Best community-centric social mmo, perhaps simulation mmo, but most certainly virtual online massively-multiplayer game (not rpg) is Salem. Themeparks are for the lazy. |

Lets be honest, WOW's success is mostly timing and Luck. It is a good game, but it is not necessarialy better than many of the games it beat. Being the focus of a South Park episode, with over 3million viewers, certainly gave them quite a boost.
