Originally posted by Tsumo Yeah I used that, but there's a way easier game. If you go on the DayZ forum, there's an installer which will keep your mod up to date. Very handy! |

Originally posted by thedarkess I've HEARD its possible to install DayZ while using ARMA 2 (free version) + purchasing Operation Arrowhead, but supposedly the texture quality is much lower as a result. I agonized over this for awhile as well, but it was well worth it to me. It's a really well done mod that provides a gaming experience you simply can't get anywhere else. Michael "MikeB" Bitton |

I have watched videos for the last couple of dayz and followed threads here in the general forum and I just got to the point where I had to throw down £25 and give it a try. Looking forward till tomorrow now when download is complete. BTW really excited to play!

Dayz is the main reason for getting arma 2. But, I do expect the game itself to be pretty good too and there is another mod called PR(Project Reality) that I used to play in BF2 alot and they are in Arma 2 also |

ARMA II is bar none the best military simulator on the market. Huge open worlds combined with accurately simulated military equipment make this game a winner all the way around. This game may not have the fancy graphics quality of games like COD or BF3 but that is the trade off they had to make to not confine the player to small maps and a Corridor-Cut Scene-Corridor game layout. Not that the graphics are all that bad however. The game maps in this game are absolutely huge and the base game plus the expansions play like no other shooter on the market. I've been playing it for well over 2 years at this point and the game still has plenty of replay value even after all this time.
This game is the spiritual successor to Operation Flashpoint, one of the best FPS's of all time and it doesn't disappoint. This game is everything OF was magnified by a factor of ten. Great game that doesn't get nearly the credit it deserves.

There are a truck load of other good mods for Arma II OA. So it's a good purchase, even when Dayz starts to get old. That's the way I look at it at least. Project Reality, Invasion 1944, Takistan Life, City Life = all kick ass free mods. BigCountry | Head Hunters | www.wefarmpeople.com |

I mean any game with a 28min average life span is worth buying. I might have to look into this game this weekend after my race and pathfinder game. |

Ok, I've seen enough videos to take the plunge. I just bought combined arms and will spend the rest of the night figuring out how to set up the mod. I want to be Uncle Owen again. |

I cheked out some videos. It looks alright, but its just an alpha mod. Its not beta or release or anything. Still lots of bugs and glitchers. If this DayZ was remade into its own game thatd be awesome. But I dont see enough in it to buy ArmaII for it. |
