If you are unwilling to research a game before you buy it, then too bad. Many people have already complained about same things you just did, so seriously.. your own fault :( |

GW2 is going to rule over TERAble. All the fun, without the grind. |

Originally posted by Dredphyre They'll both have grind, have no doubt about it. It's on every individual to decide whether they find the grind fun and for how long. Having said that, it's a tad unfair to compare a niche game like Tera that offers very specific stuff you won't find in GW2, with a casual behemoth that tries to cater to everybody. It's like saying that EVE is bad because it's less casual and less forgiving than WoW, less popular too. Bad comparisons from narrow minded people who can't possibly fathom that you can have fun in a game although it's not the most popular in the market. |

Originally posted by Dredphyre gw2 has grind it's just not for better gear. stop ripping off other people "TERAble" memes, grow a pair, and make informed decisions on your own. |

Originally posted by Dredphyre I'd like to know what grind you think is present in TERA. Personally I think the way the game is designed its impossible to grind anything besides gear at max, which is normally expected in any MMO if you wish to get the best equipment for your character at high levels. I agree with OP. Game is not terrible, it has gorgeous gfx and fun combat but the rest is so dull. PvE gets repetetive after a while and the PvP is pointless so what is there left to do? |

Originally posted by Xasapis TERA is a niche game? It is the most typical ThemePark game I have played in years. The only difference is the combat, everything else is so standard ThemePark. GW 2 seems more more innovative, with the flexible combat system (changing weapons to use different skills) and the WvWvW PvP. TERA has the political system but frankly, without a PvP component, I dont see much point to it. |

Both the art style and the combat system is a big turn off for certain people. The art style is something pretty obvious. The combat system will deter anyone that is used to mouse click and target lock his targets. Unless you're arguing that Tera is mainstream. GW2 is a casual player's heaven, they've done everything they could to catter to as many people as possible, both in terms of marketing and in features. I'm not sure that you can seriously argue that GW2 is a niche product meant for a very specific sub selection of mmoprg players. |

What's with all the "I want a refund" talk lately? Did you play for more then 2 weeks? If you did, you got what you payed for, deal with it, I have at least 15 boxes after MMOs that I don't play, and I dont whine about every single Euro I spend getting these. Thats life. |

Originally posted by Xasapis Good post, you think comparison is spot on! GW2 is aimed to much more mainstream audience so WoW/EVE comparison is a fair one. It's sad that in every video game community, not just MMO's, there is this highlander mentality of 'There can be only one!'. |

Unfortunately the OP isn't wrong about what he says (although he isn't saying much). The game just doesn't have a whole lot to do in it. It has some interesting ideas, but by far the biggest and only really significant thing the game brings to the table is the combat. The combat is good enough that a lot of people are able to look passed / forgive most of the game's shortcomings because they love it so much. Which is unfortunate, because the game does have a lot of potential. If the game had more to it, it could easily be toppling most of the other AAA MMOs atm. |

Originally posted by Drealgrin I'm living in SEA and EME has given me a finger about playing TERA. If you know any FREE game, that has an open world, extremly gorgeous graphics and especially non tab-target combat please share it with me. RaiderZ, Dragon Nest, Vindictus and C9 come to mind but none can compare to TERA - ok graphics, action combat but they are all instanced. |
