The Red 5 team has announced that a new office will be opening in Cork, Ireland later this year. The new office will help spearhead Firefall's EU iteration and the move will create thirty jobs in the area.

Commenting on the announcement, Mark Kern, CEO/CCO of Red 5 Studios said, "I'm really happy to break new ground for Red 5 in Cork, Ireland. We see so many passionate European gamers in our forums and we want to support them with everything we can. Red 5 Ireland will be like a start-up in many ways for us, and the local team we're hiring will be essential in bringing the Red 5 culture to Europe and defining the European player experience."

Had to laugh at the reasons he gave for choosing Ireland, no mention of it having one of the lowest corporate taxes in the world lol.

It's like saying you want to connect with North America and find a place where say... English Spanish and French are all spoken and you pick some little carribean island...

I;m sure you can still connect... but no f'ing way was that the best choice.

so its funny that the small indie company with a great game is trying to save a few bucks unlike mistakes made by other indie studios (38 studios)?... hmmm, sounds like u have no clue about wise budget spending to keep a staff-

no matter what side of  a country they choose- they are branching out outside U.S. that get my thumbs up!!!

they have great ideas coming up soon that can change gaming play just like GW2 is currently doin.

Me finding it funny that they gave a bunch of reasons other than the one real one for going there makes me have no clue how? The Republic of Ireland has been a favourite location of companies from all over the world for years now due to the low taxes and is common knowledge. I found genuine amusement in it but hey, go on the offensive for no reason all you like.

They do have some good ideas but haven't implemented them yet so i won't judge whether they'll change anything.
