Originally posted by BarCrow It's not as simple as they made a mistake and then fessed up to it... They PUBLICLY called the OP a FRAUD. How would you feel if you were mistreated by a GM in a game, posted about it on a forum, and then were called a fraud by the developer? Personally, I would be pissed. Are you team Azeroth, team Tyria, or team Jacob? |

Originally posted by Creslin321 I'd be pissed too..but its a sad day when someone can come out ..admit they are, in fact, wrong and another was right all along. Apologize....and it means jack shit. Someone in the compnay obviously wasn't satisfied with the first conclusions and delved even further for the facts...but apparently that accounts for nothing. I guarantee many companies would have dismissed it after the first conclusion and frak the rest. Now ..I have expereinced that as well...that's why I still see the value in BIOWARE's followup investigation and apology despite the premature first conclusion. I feel as if this whole event would be considered less of a "fail" on Bioware's part....if they had just stopped after the 2nd "investigation" ,never admitted the problem existed and never apologized. I'm glad they didn't..even if it allowed them to fall under greater scrutiny under this 3rd point of reference. |

Watching this game circle the drain is a hell of a lot more fun than playing it was. Their hubris has been trumped by their incompetence, and they are reaping the penalty of their folly. ___________________________ |

However I also would like to point out that Bioware Austin was opened up just to make this game. Its not even the original Bioware offices and I dont know how many of Bioware (Vancouver is it?) really came to Austin.
So as for Bioware Austin? Oh yea. I have no doubt that is totally EA and nothing but EA with the Bioware name slapped on the front of the building. Of that I have no doubt. But really, you're probably entirely right all around these days. |

Every oh so familiar AAA MMO released with no end game deserves to fail. The multitudes of bad examples aren't enough to teach these developers so hit them in the wallets until no game is funded for awhile. Which is already starting to happen. |

Games dying and so's EA don't you know? :D This looks like a job for....The Riviera Kid! |

Originally posted by Omnifish Ha, Jeeez... one bad apple etc. Sorry dude, hate to break it to you but you better lock yourself in some little shelter away from all humanity! Guess what, over the course of 20 years of professional career I've worked for 6 companies. You want to know how many of these companies I "arserapped" in some minor to bigger-ish form? 6 Why? Frankly, that's none of your business... but hey, as I did open my mouth: as an employee you tend to get pissed off at your employer once in a while. Where you should receive a bonus for a job well done, it's instead the directing manager who gets a bonus 100 times the size you were hoping for... for him doing nothing? At some point in time you just start taking advantage of your position and what you hace access to. Whether that means printing out a full rule book for a classic RPG game (some 400 pages) or playing the favors game with customers or mailing something private on the company account, you DO have the power. And I can't say that I wish it wasn't like that, because, well, let's face it: this ain't no PvE world, it's a friggin PvP world where getting ganked IS the norm. Now, guess what: I'm not the only arsehole out there, they, we, are everywhere! So, here is what you should consider: today, you may have been ganked in RL... repeatedly. But you may not know it... now, you may sit down and meditate over the whole thing, and eventually figured out where and whenyou were ganked. But, see, now YOU have to make a choice. Well, actually 2: 1. do you have enough evidence to actually raise this as an issue with the company? Frankly, I have had complaints logged against me because I'm not the sweetheartest buttercup person when it comes to stupid customers. Phone dialogues were checked, case logs as well, in pretty much all cases the complaint was closed in my favor because what the customer thought he had heard wasn't actually true, my behaviour was perfectly normal in the given situation, etc. (Part of it is really that all you have to know is how to play the game ;-) ) and 2. what will you do afterwards? Because one would assume that once a trust in a company is lost, you would move on from that company. But usually, if it's a bigger company - that may even have a monopoly om something - you can't be arsed to move (finding a new company, setting up everything with them, aaargh... and afterall it just happened once...) or you have no choice but to stay with them... That's why I'm saying: "if you don't want anything like that happening to you, stay away from Humanity!" Because EVERY company out there has at least 1 bad apple sitting somewhere... and guess what: the chances are very good that they'll actually survive that bad apple ;-) |

Originally posted by Omnifish EA is doing fine but if you can't see this game is having issues...well...pretty much speaks more than anything I could say. 1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical. 2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself. 3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose. |
