Has anyone tried or know if it is possible to play through most of the game by not killing anything yourself? As in letting a companion do all the killing and you heal them or be stealthy and avoid fights? I was thinking of playing this way but wondered how plausible it is to do it. |

I remember seeing videos of a guy who played this way a few months back. Im sure if you search youtube you could find it. I think what he did was use magic to confuse enemies so they wouldnt attack him as he ran through the dungeons. I remember he was running from about 10 draugrs at one point after he looted the final chest in a dungeon. |

I'm not going to say impossible, but definitely improbable. The sheer number of targets you need to loot something off of..I duno maybe if you had a crazy high stealth and pickpocket.. A companion is only about 50% or less the value of your character and the enemies generated are based off your char lvl wise. Relying solely on a companion to do kills is..well it'd be hard to say the least I think. I wouldn't try it, but You are not me and I applaud your creativity as that is something I definitely would never have considered doing in this game. |

Does summoning two daedric lords and setting them upon your enemy count as "not killing anything yourself"? :)

As a stealther it'd be easy. The only hard part would be the main quest line where you have to kill something to continue (Like a dragon, or that nord guy who's pretty tough). |

Ok, I'm going to try it. I wasn't sure if there were some places in the game where it would be impossible to do. This'll be fun...and challenging Originally posted by Nefera Yes! I didn't kill him....he did it. I had no idea he would kill the guy after summoning... |

Originally posted by mmoguy43 I'd suspect that the Dark Brotherhood would be impossible actually..that'd be the only place tho. The part where you have to use a bow from the ledge to off the emperors cousin in particular comes to mind... So yeah, avoid the Dark Brotherhood. |

I'd say it is possible but invest in illusion magic, restoration magic (or alchemy instead), sneak, pick-pocketing, and speech. Don't bother with lock-picking because there is a mod that allows you to pick any lock in the game by using a visual indicator of the "Sweet spot" for locks. Edit: IMHO it would be more practical and reasonable to be able to kill creatures just not sentient humanoids. Games I've played/tried out:WAR, LOTRO, Tabula Rasa, AoC, EQ1, EQ2, WoW, Vangaurd, FFXI, D&DO, Lineage 2, Saga Of Ryzom, EvE Online, DAoC, Guild Wars,Star Wars Galaxies, Hell Gate London, Auto Assault, Grando Espada ( AKA SoTNW ), Archlord, CoV/H, Star Trek Online, APB, Champions Online, FFXIV, Rift Online, GW2. Game(s) I Am Currently Playing: GW2 (+LoL and BF3) |

Yes, with the totally open ended game play design of the game it is possible to play any way you choose. I personally have done an entire dungeon without killing anything on my Stealth/Archer build by just sneaking in, getting what I was there for and sneaking back out. I mainly did it just to see if I could. I easily could have done this throughout the entire game if I passed on the "Kill" quests.

And no need to invest either, you can use the console to give you as many xp as you want. |

Dual daedric lords should do it, they brutalize everything.

It's not possible. Companion AI isn't intelligent enough to keep itself alive through tougher battles and even the best armor/weapon won't keep them from walking right into traps and sometimes over edges. You can increase the chance of this working by summoning pets and bombarding enemies with high level Conjuration in addition to Alteration's buffing skills, however certain enemies (like Dragons) will feel like chipping away at raid bosses, and even the master-level Daedric summons are prone to getting killed in 1-2 hits from Ancient/Storyline Dragons. You can do it, but you'll be doing a LOT of summoning and re-summoning, even on Normal difficulty. That also, technically, counts as "pacifism" about as much as me siccing my dog on someone does. As in, not. "Forums aren't for intelligent discussion; they're for blow-hards with unwavering opinions." |

Not sure if I did the entire game without personally killing anything but my Illusion mage never engaged in melee or ranged combat, just used a summon (or 2 at later levels), a companion, confusion, fear, frenzy and healing. I specifically built the character to see how far I could get without fighting...turns out I can finish the main quest and kill anything in game (not personally of course) on master without really breaking sweat...but the first few levels were tough! |
