While I can sympathize with all the members who don't reside in NA when it comes to these type of things the fact remains shipping costs to anywhere else is expensive (by comparison). Most of these contests appear to be based on donations from the companies who's product is the prize which means the cost to MMORPG.com is very minimal if limited to shipping within NA. I would expect the same exact limitations if I was to frequent a website based out of Europe or Asia for example. Hell I live in the US and often don't have the ability to participate in many contests simply because I am not on the mainland (Hawaii). |

I know all that, but at same time it irritated me once too much. (I am from Europe btw). I am going to look in this moment for some decent english-based EU mmorpg website.
After all it is 2012, so if they offer their webiste globally ( and they do, ads are diffrent for diffrent countries, some worthless giveaways for F2P games DO have separate EU giveaways on this site, etc) then offer good rewards for everyone as well. I seriously don't care if this require more paperwork or / and negotiation with prize giver. |

There would probably be taxes involved if they had to ship prizes to Europe. Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them. |

Taxes, fees and regulations for how competitions are run make up most of the problem with "golbal" competitions. This have been a good conversation |

The last competitions mmorpg had was that Fractal Design and they are located in Sweden and that competition was still US / Canada only. So i say its just bull that they dont let the rest of the world have some fun. Benjamin Franklin wrote the best quote to use for MMOs in development. |

The bottom line is guys that WE don't ship anything. We hold the event for the sponsor and they decide where THEY want to ship prizes to. There are all kinds of issues with sending prizes around the world from a legal, taxation and shipping issue. Back when we used to ship contest prizes (we stopped this over 4 years ago) I would find that many EU winners would not pay the tariffs on their imported goods. They would win a $100 item and the taxes in some countries would be $30 or more on that item. If a sponsor agrees to ship internationally we are excited to do it...but it is rare I am afraid. - MMORPG.COM Staff - |

I really understand. I does not make me feel better when I see doezens of contests (with best prizes) for USA & Canada only. Make me feel second category user every time. ----------------------------- Mmorpg.com & one other USA based mmorpg portal I follow - thing is you don't have much english-language non-USA competitors yet. There are ones of general gaming, but there are not big ones for mmorpg's yet. When they will be created / small ones grow big enough - I feel many EU & other users may leave. They will be created, purely because EU is groiwng by incorporating more and more countries and thus english is getting more important in EU, while French and German don't have that much strenght as being 'second language' to many people. --------------------- Just to be clear - I am not blaming you or anything. Just saying how I feel about that. |

The drawing is only eligible to members of the MMORPG.COM Web site who are residents the United States or Canada and who reside in a region where such contests are not prohibited by law, who are 13 years of age or older and not employees of CCI, CCI sponsors, CCI volunteer staff or CCI affiliates and their families.
You should update your text btw. As there is no indication of non-eligbility for non-USA and Canadians... |

lol I see there giving the worse boards they ever make, as I thought they remove them by now after all the recalls they did on the first series and problems of crashing all the time with the G1 Sniper and G1.Assassin boards. I won't join this event no way I don't want this board distroying my custem built Tower. |
