Just curious, does Guild Wars 2 have a beta weekend schedule or is it currently just when they decided to open it up for a beta weekend.... because Memorial Day Weekend would've been a good time to play. I'm just saying... but I don't see anything about a beta weekend so I'm guessing no such luck? |

There is no set schadule available for us, players. Arenanet aims to have a BWE per month till release, give or take. They usually announce it a few days in advance, so keep your eyes open. They GW2 Facebook page is a good way to get news fast and reliably. Many of us think that the next weekend might be a BWE. So, stay tuned! |

There is no schedule. Arenanet does try to have 1 each month, but Arenanet doesn't even know if they'll have a BWE until a few days before a weekend. It depends mostly on the feedback they get from their BWEs and Stress Tests and how fast they can fix the problems they found. Example, we didn't know whether we'd get a BWE this weekend until Tuesday or Wednesday or something because Arenanet was installing hardware and they weren't sure if they'd be done in time. It's pretty much Arenanet's philosophy "When it's ready". "I'll lead, you follow." |

Arenanet had said that as soon as they knew whether or not their would be a BWE on Memorial Day Weekend, they would let us know. They didn't tell us it was a "no go" until Tuesday. Assuming they did indeed tell us as soon as they knew, that means they were hoping to have an event this weekend and pretty much only abandoned that hope when they reached the point where they wouldn't have been able to give us a full three days notice. So, I'm pretty hopeful the next BWE will be the first weekend in June. However, there is one caveat. They let us know that one major reason for a delay was the fact that they were adding new hardware to address server issues uncovered in BWE1 and more finely identified during the Stress Test they had over almost two weeks ago. Things might still be contingent on the ability to aquire, install and test the new hardware in time for the first weekend in June. I also have to wonder if they might not have another stress test in advance, in order to test the new hardware set up. I'd think that once they get the hardware issues fully settled, they will be more able to keep to a BWE per month and I actually hope they may be able to accelerate that a bit, depending on what future BWEs produce in the line of bugs and feedback and the turn around time for processing that feedback and getting the proper fixes into the game. I really wish we could get a projected schedule moving forward, with the disclaimer that dates are subject to change, but it's also possible that we are close enough to release that it would prove redundant. Originally posted by fiontar You know it wouldn't work. Especially after seeing all the complaints about not having a BWE in May at all, despite there was never a promise of one happenin. People have tendency to see and read what they want to, and that's not always same as is written. You give them schedule and they will consider those dates set in stone and cry each time things don't go as planned. Some tend to treat betas as their fundamental human right sadly...

Actually there is a schedule and they already told it several time everywhere, they plan to make a beta each month at least, and they plan to stick to it as much as they can they confirmed it several times already in twitter, but they don't want to give fixed date because obviously you test when you need some test to be done. |

... the reason there were no more Beta Weekends in May was because of the first one, directly... they determined they under-estimated server load by 2/3... so they are spending this time putting in more hardware.... I expect in June it will be the same... LOL

Originally posted by fenistil Thats the biggest problem right there. If you spent your money only to test a game, youre doing it wrong. Noone paid for beta. You paid for the game, got the beta access for free as a bonus. If Anet was charging for beta access you would still have to pay them more money later when the game launched, and thats just not the case. Anyone who thought beta was what they paid for need to get a life. You havent paid a dime for beta and they dont owe you anything. Take the time they give you as a gift, not a right. |

I hope everyone who paid for beta is going to buy the actual game, too! I'll wait to the day's end when the moon is high |
