This really should have been labeled something other then review. because lets face it, neither of you hit max lvl and are working on the great grind and have even seen half the dungeons. especially the higher ones that are done so well. Otherwise i find this fantastic. really sick of reviewers not playing through a game and labeling it such and such. Hero Evermore |

Pretty much what I have expected. I never understood all those threads titled "The future is not GW2 or TSW, the future is TERA!!" or similar..
Like I always said and I will say it again: Great combat and graphics =/= an amazing long-term mmorpg like many TERA fans make it out to be. Just want GW2. |

My favorite posts are the '7.7 is way too low, reviewer must be biased..its at least an 8.5!!' Most aspects of TERA are mediocre. If i get a bunch of Cs and Ds on exams and manage an A and a B along with them, its still going to only average out to a C+ |

One has to wonder if Tera had had the backing of some bigshot publisher. Would they have gotten a higher score. Blue Hole, EnMasse and Frogster are all nothing in the gaming industry. Now I don't care for the score what so ever, since I found the game not to be worth my time, but rarely does a polished game get below an 8 here. |

I see that things here haven't changed since the last time I posted. xD Although I think that the review needs a couple of edits for grammar / typos, I agree with it. The combat is entertaining, the BAM fights can be amazing, the community on Celestial Hills is about average (but certainly not bad IMO), and so on. If I wrote a review for Tera, this one contains essentially what I would say. The questing system is really, really old hat, and that's my biggest complaint with Tera. They need to do something to fix that, but that is something that's entirely possible to change for the better. It does not need voice acting, but it does need to be more dynamic. The game play is what matters the most. There can be tons of story (ahem), but it's not going to go far without solid game play to back it up. It's like what we see on other review sites for other games. Game issues can be forgiven as long the game is fun to actually play (that ultimately being the whole point), and that's where I see Tera at right now. edit: Speaking of grammar issues, this post needs some edits too.. but I'm too lazy and it's 2:30 AM, so it stays this way. Forever. :P |

If game does not catch you after amount of time the reviewer has put into it I don't really see a point why should he go through all this tedium to get into 'fun stuff'? To me that screams horrible and outdated game design and justifies the score. Anyone checking out the game won't play to the max level and get to those good things unless the leveling process can keep him interested, which seemingly was not the case here. Reviews are just opinions. Although giving scores to opinions is another really outdated thing to do, it tends to generate nice 'discussion'.. :) |

You know. People might like or not like TERA, it's really a matter of taste. But it does bring a couple of things most people want more MMO makers to be bringing in their games: Super fun engaging combat, which translates in superfun engaging healing - first game I ever play with no shortage of healers. And uncompromising top notch graphics that suck you in without catering to the lowest common denominator machines to play it. Questing we all agree is old style and something they better work with in the future. But let's face it, 7.7 using this new score since last summer - when they gave Champions Online: The posterchild of mediocrity and sloppy carelessly put together MMOs (and I enjoyed the game too) was givena 7.8. They can say oh, different reviewers, but they are both mmorpg reviews using the same criteria - are they going to keep deprecating the value of their reviews because it's different reviewers? Please. It's just embarrasing for them to give a game that performs well and bring solid fun stable gameplay to the table while Champs - of all games gets a 7.8 Really. C'mon. Only reason fair minded people could put those two together and not decide to reevaluate their score is pride. |

I believe the score is a little low for Tera, I have played every major MMO that has been released. Here are some things I will bring up; At Release; BEST GUI from the start, lots of modifications build into it (Can have more then 2 boxes open at the same time) Graphics are the best I have seen for a MMO Combat feels fluid. I love the dodging system. I have used my mount to travel from middle of the continent to top without LOADING screen. (You cant say that from many recently release MMO including GW2.) I feel like I am playing a FPS with RPG elements over a standard tab 1,2,3,4 MMO. This is my opinion from the latest 3 MMO I have played. I bought the collection edition for all 3 Rift = 8.1 SWTOR=6 (I did not reach max level, I got way to bored by the time I was 42) Tera = 8.2 (currently level 41)
Finally I have had no issues getting into groups and feel the community is overall helpful. |

Loved the graphics, loved the combat and loved the world. However after hitting 40 on my Sorc I just can't take the questing anymore. Never have I felt such dread at going to the next quest hub to start the same repetitive questing all over again. I will admit that It could just be that I am havoing a bad case of MMO burnout, but I just can't force myself to log in anymore. |

I gotta admit that I find TERA boring. It's looking good and all but the grind fest quickly got to me. I lost count of how many times I had to go kill the same kind of mobs while leveling up rather fast and I won't be renewing my subscription after the trial. If it ain't dead you're not pressing 2 hard enough. |

After playing this game for around 70 hours, i think its a pretty fair review. That one in a million Anime loving,Workout crazy, Gamer. |

You have to look at the review in context. Both SW:TOR and Tera were rated both on one aspect of the game, which is the leveling portion. In that regard it makes sense that SW:TOR got a 8.5 and Tera got 7.7 as SW:TOR has a better grind to cap then Tera does.
That said I will not accept any score that only judges one portion of the game, 50+ hours or not. I could care less if the reviewer got to 60 in Tera and gave it a 4. The point is that he at least played the whole game and can give an accurate assessment. MMORPG.com your job is to give fair an accurate reviews of games players want to play. You know darn well how MMOs work, there's a leveling game and a completely separate endgame portion. How can MMO players take your reviews seriously if you yourselves don't treat games like an MMO? |
