Lol, your not going against the mainstream, because the game is made for Coregamers aka "The mainstream" and it failed to capture that audeience or any of the hardcore (What you would consider indie MMO players).
So in other words, your going against no one, cause the game is terrible no matter which market your trying to favor. |

Originally posted by Roin I was going to make my jedi human but then I unlocked sith pureboods with my first 50. Tempted to make the jedi sith purebloods in order to play a rebellious jedi as opposed to a goody tooshoe human. At some point I'm going there if nothing else to experience the Republic side. Will probably happen once I finish the Inquisitor and Agent storylines. NGE killed SWG. Get over it like the rest of us did in 2005. |

Originally posted by prizm1234 That's going to be right after I finish Mara/Sent (which ever I finally decide on. Leaning towards Marauder atm). Smuggler has by far one of the better Republics stories. They are sort of like the "Bad boy in Space, with a girl at every port" type. As opposed to their mirror the Agent which is like James Bond in Space. @ktanner3 I might do a Sith Pure Blood legacy after they add the Legacy perks that increase leveling speed. A rebel sith family that have been part of the Republic for generations lol. In War - Victory. |

Originally posted by Kwon ..ok so you like the game. You got some good stuff coming! server transfers, which leads to server merges and a CEO who says the game is not a top priority for development, so don't expect a xpac..sorry about that one. also the rumors of 200-300 mil spent to make this game? I believe a extra 0 was added through all the paid A++ reviews offical reviews But enjoy the game! I am glad you do..there are still people who love Warhammer online, paid or not they still play. |

I’ve been playing MMO’s pretty much from day 1 (Asherons Call beta anyone?) and I have played just about all of them. Some are great, some aren’t. SWTOR is as good as any that I have played. The game isn’t perfect, but none of them are or were. The problem with SWTOR isn’t the game itself, it’s the players. I call them the “WoW Generation”. WoW was their first MMO and they think they know what a good game is. They don’t. WoW invented just about nothing, nearly every feature of WoW (certainly so at launch) had been done before. And for full disclosure I played WoW for 6 years just like everybody else. What WoW did (and lucked into) that made it special wasn’t game quality, it was an idiot proof interface as well as being the first real MMO of the Broadband generation. People played MMO’s primarily on dialup before WoW. WoW was the first big game to go huge as a result. Not because it was better than its peers or the games before it. You old schoolers know what I mean. Now we have all these gamers running around thinking they know what a good game is, they play an MMO for a couple of months and then rage quit because it isn’t their beloved WoW. Their “woobie” blanket. There are/were more people playing WoW for their first MMO as all MMO players before them combined. They are vocal and like to complain and fill these forums. But they have no clue what a real MMO is and what to appreciate, they will continue to NEVER find a game they love because it’s never going to exist. Nothing is as good as your first. Unfortunately their first was a huge innovationless game that born 10 million gamers to the genre. The cold hard fact is, is there will never be a WoW type of success again, it was a onetime thing. There is too much parity and competition for our attention now in MMO’s. Now all games that aren’t as big as WoW are failures? BAH! What’s the point? Find a game you like and play it, stop whining on forums all day about games you hate when you really don’t have any idea what a good MMO is. How is that for a rant? |

I plan on levelling through at least 8 toons myself, all 16 different classes if I can stomach it to see the variations, but once all that is done, then there is nothing left to play the game for, as after that it is just throwing money away hand over fist repeating stuff and being stuck in Groundhog Day. Unless of course some real adequate content gets added, that makes the most of all those toons. If it gets boring or takes too long I am not going to be paying the monthly fee when can get the same enjoyment from many other single player games that do not have a monthly fee. Also with the closure of SWG before its time, it does not motivate much to go spend more time and money on game where LA is fickle, and SWTOR could be shut down just as easily too. SWG was worth subbing to monthly as there was more to the game than just levelling up toons, and it took a while to achieve stuff. Star Trek Online - Best Free MMORPG of 2012 |

By now, the "mainstream" crowd isn't hating on the game. The "mainstream" crowd has forgotten entirely about it. |

Originally posted by Kwon It's pretty hypocritical to make the comments you did about WoW and "those players" yet feel the need to get up in arms about this game and those that don't care for it. 1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical. 2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself. 3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose. |

Originally posted by elocke Neither are the stories in any other MMO and they force you to slog through the same content and combat style many times as well. If you're going to be obnoxious about a game that others like and you don't, at least pick an argument that doesn't have gaping holes in its logic. |

50 Sniper But I just cant do it anymore. Completely bored with the game. If there was a better end game then I would still be playing. As much as I despise Blizzard.. atleast they had an abundance of Raid Content. Just because I'm a gamer doesn't mean I drive a Honda.

Haven't played SWTOR so I don't have a clue if its good or not (don't like the play 'solo' idea though), but what I do know is that your sarcasm is a form of whining... if fact, you're whining against WoW. |

If there was no sub fee I probably would have leveled 4 chars to the cap. Leveling was a lot of fun in that game. I'm sure haters would still have been there had it been B2P, but I wouldn't of had a single complaint if that was its model. |

Originally posted by Kwon By mainstream I was actually referring to most customers who have bought the game and didn't like it and set it aside. A small minority of people would ever come to forums to complain for extended period of time, and thus, people who do are not the mainstream. So, the OP saying that hating on the game is the 'mainstream' way to go is kinda dumb. Especially since over a million people seem to be liking it anyway.

Originally posted by elocke I actually loved the main storylines. But it got boring the 4th time through and ended my time in TOR before I could finish my 4th level 50.
The lack of any endgame content didnt help either. |
