I have that cpu and I can say it performs very well in anything I played so far. Ofcourse it depends on the gpu also. |

It's a solid processor; but it's rubbish when compared to Intel's processors.

Intel Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge CPU's will also overclock 500-1000MHz more than the Phenom II, so it gains quite an advantage in that respect. |

Do you already have it, or are thinking about buying it, or what? It's a capable gaming processor. It's also over 3 years old, and others that are much better have come out since then. |

If you have it already you can pair it with a tower heatsink and OC. You shouldn't need to upgrade this generation for any game comming out. Wait for AMD Vishera and the associated price drops/wars then decide. Intel will have to reposition a lot of hardware also. No sense in upgrading when the processor market is essentially being led by one company. Especially when a quad core Phenom II is still viable. |
