The issue isnt you downloading a game and playing a game you would otherwise not buy its that people who would otherwise BUY it download it also. You know how much these games cost to develop ? talking a few hundred people all who make 50-100k a year for a 3+ year period and thats not counting the voice acting or writers. |

you'll be waiting about 5 years for blizzard to develope an average expansion. Blizzard are not the gods you think they are. i'm going to go out on a limb and say titan will be an epic failure, it will be compared to wow in every aspect and wont reach half the numbers. |

I'll just play guild wars 2, it cost the same as diablo doesn't have a monthly fee like diablo but it will receive major content updates. if diablo 3 is on a mmo site then its justified to compare it on mmo terms, afterall you can't play it offline. |

Originally posted by Everket Look at other online coop games. . or PvP games even that are not MMOs. Battlefield. Was there new content for that? I remember buying expansions. It is not an MMO as we think of it. There is no persistant world that will get updates and new quests as people progress. It is a one story. . one shot game. Likely there are exansions in the future. I agree though. . even those other games had an offline mode. . even if it sucked. Wa min God! Se æx on min heafod is! |

Originally posted by ElderRat I dont' think he meant that. I suppose it could be taken either way. Doesn't have a montly fee "like Diablo" I think was meant as "the same as Diablo". . not "like Diablo does".
He is saying since they are both the same cost etc. he might as well take the one that is an MMO and will have content updates etc.. even though these will mostly come through paid expansions and the money made from the cash shop etc. Wa min God! Se æx on min heafod is! |

Originally posted by Aethaeryn I saw your post and you are trying to defend something which is crystal clear. There is no hidden meaning in what he said nor he was misunderstood or taken out of context. |

They rarely add content to WoW. Why would they add content to D3? |

Originally posted by VowOfSilence To be fair the GW2 devs have promised to add content not only in expansions. I do think though that comparing Gw2 and Diablo in any way is retarted, saying apples and oranges here is an understatement. |

That doesn't surprise me. However, I remember them saying that their plan was to release two expansions for the game which is great. I would also love some DLCs! |

Originally posted by dimasok There are two expansions slated for this game. That would be your new content. This is not an MMO where they bring in changes to the server every week or add in some backstory from some group of NPC's.. Not how it works in Diablo, so 'No' in that sense there won't be content updates / patches, but there are expansions planned and if you knew Diablo 2 those can sometimes be better than the first part installation of the game. |

Originally posted by Golelorn Well cause D3 has less, and I would think they have some sort of toolkit that would make it substantially easier than with a 3rd person mmo. Maybe that last part isnt' the case, but I would settle for a new dungeon or area once a month.
I think they'd be smart to do so, because why else would people buy gear for real money except to possibly keep up with some sort of progression treadmill and if you've done everything there is to do (most people aren't going to care about inferno and prob not even hell difficulties), then why buy anything? You'd never use it anyhow. |
