Do you use the predownload installer? If so, is it older than from last sunday morning? If yes, that's the problem. I see you're from the UK. There was a problem with the old EU installer, both the UK and the German version. You may have received a mail about it, I did. |

no i just bought the game today and downloaded from my battlenet account. first i was getting disk has been ejected just before the install starts (its a digtal version) then i found a solution saying, theres a new version of the downloader so i installed that one and got an unexpected error just before installing on the launcher. it shouldn't be this hard to install a game, seriously!! |

May be something on your end. then. I re-downloaded everything just a few hours ago, to install it on my laptop in my apartment (forgot to bring a copy from the stationary in my house). I had no problems whatsoever, everything worked just fine. And yes, I also use the EN/UK version. |

I had the same problem, bought the digital download, downloaded the game and it froze at 99%. Had to reboot after that and installed it, the game dowload file compilation is done in packages equating to disks, terribly old, outdated and problematic method and true to form, it's broken for many people. I installed it, it gets to 41%, then tells me to install the next disk (lol). What has happened is the game has not downloaded one of these packages, the solution im told is to reopen the downloader, rerun it. This for me redownloaded the last 4 gig or-so. This time it did complete and did not freeze at 99%. However, try to install it and, hey presto, stuck at 41%....again. Blanked the entire download and removed it all from my computer, did it from scratch and presto....same result, it's borked (another 7.8 gig download) Was directed to a VERY obscure alternate downloader, that worked completely differently to the one you get from the official site, more like the WoW installer and less like something from the 1990's. This, sadly, agagin did not work, i got a bunch of error codes, then the install stopped at 1%. So, having downloaded it three times and redownloading another 4 gig (26gig total) i still cannot install it. I have an open forum post, but the tech support is scrolling so fast it's likely to get lost among the deluge of error code reports. If i figure it out, ill come back and post. |

Originally posted by Badaboom Did is say something about your windows being an older version? If so you may have to download the latest patch and service pack. Also, check your graphics drivers, D3 is a disaster for older cards and this causes problems for manay people. Additionally, check out the list on the tech support page (it's stickied) that lists the unsupported cards, there are about 700 on the list, most are VERY old cards but as you only exceed the min requirements, you might have an older PC and that might be your issue.

Finally got it working today. When D3 is downloaded DO NOT CLOSE THE WINDOW!!! It seems like it has completed, but it hasn't. Wait for the download box to close on it's own, it can take a while. This has caused many problems. If D3 has downloaded and won't install properly or asks for the next disk, open the download folder and look for any files named .PART. These are part downloaded files, if you see them restart the downloader, it'll scan the folder and might finish the download. If this doesn't work, go in and delete the .PART files and rerun the downloader, this will redownload the missing files only. If it says your windows is too old or somesuch, you are missing a service pack or a windows patch, run the updater. |
