Originally posted by zymurgeist I hope you aren't serious there. Game rushing (mostly exploiting) is nearly completely useless by any metric one can think of. There's actually a lot more value in someone, say, clearing Hardcore by themselves, without exploits, fed gear, etc. |

you can easily do it in 12 hours. probably a lot less. this is diablo, not wow. all there is to do when you are done is search for things you missed. theres a lot less of a point to going through and seeing everything the first time through. plus normal mode is boring as hell. you monk isn't kick ass, the mobs you are fighting were designed so a 4 year old could AOE them all down. That is why most ppl blow through normal mode .. so they can actually be entertained. LFD tools are great for cramming people into content, but quality > quantity. |

I think if you rushed right to bosses instead of exploring every nook and cranny for random loot you could complete this game super fast if you got some decent gear along the way . However in ACT3 at the start its a damn war that reminds me of Lord Of the Rings . |

Act 3 done, total playtime so far is 19h and 20min... looks to be a good 23h or so gameplay for an average first run through if you spend the time to look around. |

Just finished hardcore nightmare act 1 in 40 or so hours of gameplay.Don't know what this 12 hour means, you can also beat skyrim in 3 hours if you just storm through, so what? Remember D3 is not an mmo.Still got the rest of the nightmare and hell to beat, so this would get another 80 hours or more. Not counting inferno since we have to get farm hell for a while to be able to stay alive i guess. Not even sure i want to even try inferno on hardcore before i try it on softcore. Anyways, tons of fun except the server side latence and shutdowns. Bah its fine i guess have to sleep eventually.

Well of course if you wanna explore everything itll take awhile. Super rush has people completing it in 5 hours. I have no problem with that. Plenty of replay value. |

12 hour clear time is what happens when people beat the game without actually playing it. |

Originally posted by Jyiiga Right, they said people wouldn't COMPLETE inferno mode before a few months. They haven't even finished act 1 on inferno, just a mini boss. I'd say they have a ways to go. |

If these guys in Korea can finish all of Inferno mode before the first week after release Blizzard will become a laughing stock over their statements that Inferno mode is so hard it will take months before anyone completes it. |

Originally posted by Thorbrand Hmm... I just played for about 14 hours straight, with small breaks here and there, and a server restart, and there were no issues whatsoever. I think it lagged once all day, and a couple times for some reason, a couple of my friends got booted from the game and then quickly in again for some reason. Blizzard is far from failing. |

Originally posted by LizardEgypt Until more than one or a few groups of people can do it, it really isn't an issue. It's not like the average group of players will just walk in and faceroll inferno. |

I'm playing two characters. One strictly solo, and the other I'm playing multiplayer with friends. On the solo one, I'm clearing all the maps - not a single spot of fog of war left on the map. I talk to every single NPC, listen to every single piece of conversation and read / listen to every it of lore I find in the game. Admittedly, I was stupid enough to port back to town to sell whites in the earlier levels before I remembered we weren't touching those in Diablo... but still... That character is in the middle of Act 2, and has * 15 hours * played. On the other one, the one I play with friends, we just blow through stuff. It's going much much faster, and if that was my first play through I'd honestly hate the experience, because there's insufficient time to even dig into the mood of the game, let alone digest story and lore.

Originally posted by Jaedor This seems about 6 minutes too long. If a fight is going to be long, at least make it change some. Do any of the other bosses utilize different tactics in higher difficulties? Seems so far like it's just a bunch of number padding. |

Originally posted by jusomdude Aye if they're playing 24/7 which it sounds like, I would take their time and divide by 3, the avergae gamer could sink about than 3 hours a day into a game, cus they have a job and a life. So lets say they complete inferno by Monday, thats 168 hours, divide that by 3 (3 hours a day) and you get 56 days, 64days if you exclude weekends. 2 Months. It's no different to a guilde clearing a new raid in a two weeks. |

I've done the act 1 in just under 3 hours on my witch doctor and I've did the regular exploring and took my time with crafting and stuff... The usual :) Now I'm on act 2 somewhere in the middle of it I think, but I've been also playing with my friend in COOP with my barbarian char and we're somewhere on the same part now as I'm with my witch doctor and we did that in around 6-7 hours.... I'm trying to soak in everything the game has to offer on normal mode :D "Happiness is not a destination. It is a method of life." ![]() |
