Harlequin is a large Oceanic multi-game clan spanning many MMOs over its history. We currently officially support SW:TOR, GW2, Archeage, and Tera.
History Harlequin was born in September, 2008, primarily as a group of friends looking to play sandbox MMO's with like-minded Australian gamers. The idea was to create a community where good people and good fun was always first above high numbers - within months, Harlequin became the largest MMO guild in Australia, purely because many Australian MMO gamers were looking for the same thing. Through Darkfall, Mortal Online and many other games along the way, our community still keeps the same sensibilities and many of the same members from day 1.
About Harlequin Harlequin isn't just a guild - it's a community. We have an active forum with members from all sorts of backgrounds, playing all sorts of games. We have had several guild meetups in capital cities. Harlequin is a close-knit community of people of many ages and from all walks of life.
We do not have membership restrictions based on class, level, playstyle, etc. Anyone is welcome to join as long as they abide by the rules and want to have fun! And joining us in one game means you can play other games in future with a community you already know.
In addition to our forums and mumble server, Harlequin uses many tools to assist in communication and coordination. Our website features event calendars, a marketplace, a wiki, a signature creator, and Call to Arms (which allows an officer to alert all members signed up via email or text message to an event such as a siege for fast response).
GW2 Plans Harlequin is recruiting all hardcore and casual players alike for PvX gameplay. We have traditionally gravitated towards PvP, and as such, we will be doing a lot of WvW, as well as structured PvP, with the aim to dominate and make a name for ourselves as we have in so many other games. Harlequin has always made a name for itself, being known as the "best of the reds" in Mortal Online, and winning the first AvA season on the Tradewind server in Global Agenda.
On the PvE side, we will be taking on world bosses, explorable mode dungeons, and anything else the devs want to throw at us.
Joining Harlequin Requirements:
* Age: 17+ * Play during oceanic hours (GMT +10ish) * Must have and use Mumble for voice communication * All members of Harlequin are required to play officially supported games (those with their own forums on our site) only under the Harlequin tag * Members must follow our anti-griefing policy
To join, make an account at our website, then click the "apply" button at the top of the page. Please be diligent in your application - we don't require an essay, but a few lines are appreciated. |

Wow this sounds really interesting.
I'm a casual PvP player in my early thirties, lives in Singapore and have not much time since I work in the events line. Do you think I'll stand a chance to join this awesome guild? I have no mumble ATM but that is easily solved as I already have a good headset & peripherals as well as a decent gaming rig. I'm no pro player though, but I did decently well at CS at its peak. Hope that helps. If I seem to be the kind of player that might make it into your guild, let me know and I'll apply for it. Thank you! |

We accept players of all skill levels as long as they're willing to follow the rules and have fun! We have a guide to set up mumble on our site, so it's nice and easy to get that ready. Harlequin's a fantastic community so I'm sure you'll enjoy it. Just register on the site and click the apply button, and be sure to answer the questions with as much detail as possible (a few sentences each for the larger questions is a good idea). Brief applications tend to be rejected, as this is our only insight into whether an applicant is a good fit for the community. |

If you’re still seeking a guild to join for either BWE/Head Start/Launch etc come and join Harlequin! You’ll find that the OP should be able to fill you in and answer your questions otherwise feel free to post your questions here or on our website – www.theharlequin.com.au As a majorly Oceanic community, we are looking for like minded individuals to help not only nurture their goals but as a collective, Harlequin’s own though a dominant joint effort. Whether you are from the Oceanic region or not, a casual or hardcore gamer, we don’t discriminate and welcome everyone from all walks of life. As the passing (unfortunately) BWE has provided invaluable experience over many avenues, over the time frame of now and till the headstart, Harlequin will be preparing to move into a defined direction in order to be prepared for official launch and the future. So we want you to come get on board with us, not only as a gaming community, a guild but also as a family! We hope to see you fill our ranks soon! |

From a Member of Harlequin Since joining Harlequin in 2010, I've increasingly made new comrades who we all share a common interest it doesn't have to be about games. It could be music, movies etc. The great thing about Harlequin is the diversity of having a place in a large variety of different games. Sometimes if you get along well with a few mates you even end up playing games together outside of Harlequin (other MMOs, RTS, FPS) Although we may have a Hiearchy every member is capable of giving their input. The Hiearchy system or ranking system we have is not even due to being with us for long periods of time, but more for being reconised as a respectable member who other members believe he/she is worthy of doing more and has helped the guild. If your looking for a Guild that has a relaxing and welcoming community, and a fetish for hardcore/casual gaming then give us a go. You never know how good things are until you try it. |

A thanks to those who've applied so far, we've had a steady amount of recruits continue to join the guild. For those potential recruits, come join us as you won't be disappointed we have a sound plan heading into GW2 and will make sure our guild won't be a place that you won't be able to progress or be nurtured. Whether Oceanic or International, we will show the community how dominant we can be especially for WvW, a guild that you can invest your time in, start as a guild member and settle as a family member. Not only are we set for GW2 but a plethora of many other games you can join with us! |

With the recent stress test announced (and hopefully another beta weekend shortly after), I'd say it be an appropriate time for me to bump! Harlequin is still recruiting so please come and join, whether you're planning to play casually, hardcore, mainly PvE or PvP etc, it doesn't matter as this is the clan that'll offer you the community, the resources, the teamwork to thrive in.
Join today, you won't be disappointed!

Two new updates that'll serve as the thread's latest bump, first off I'm sure we're all taking in the latest patch notes favorably (PvP/WvW section appealed to me greatly :P) and secondly Harlequin will soon have a guild spotlight posted soon that will allow some further insight towards its humble beginnings + more! Don't worry, I'll alert you guys with more info about it when the time comes - with that said, Harlequin continues to have a steady amount of recruits join from all walks of life and there's still plenty room for more. Come join us for the next BWE, a few games of LoL or even some ArmA 2 DayZ action, there will be plenty to do once you've joined so go go go! |

I'm an older player and I was wondering what your age grouping is like, you say that you start at 17+, but how many older players do you have as members? Also what other games and game types are you into besides mmorpg's?
I'm 40+ south aussie pensioner who has a lot of time on his hands for gaming. |

We range all over. Got quite a few older blokes, though we tend to the younger side.
That's over the whole clan, though - not entirely certain about the GW2 division alone.
As for other games, well, quite a few of the guys play League of Legends, and Day Z is quite popular at the moment! Many are into ARMA II and other military shooters as well. We've also organised strategy nights in the past, played Civilization V and Sins of a Solar Empire myself. |

A perfect opportunity to post has arisen! With the next BWE event announced, now would be an excellent time to come join Harlequin. We plan to spend most of our time in WvW after having gotten to know the PvE counterpart to the game fairly well. You, as a potential recruit would be briefed up to speed with our intentions heading into this game and with also the general guild happenings altogether so you won't be left out. Come join us today, don't miss out on playing with such a prolific Oceanic guild! |
