Epic's population is an all time low.

Website, gone.

Forums, gone.

All the forum ban history of trolls, helpful posts, rules, all gone.

Login server has been breaking now daily.  

I heard also in IRC that the owner/CEO just now started looking the issue(s).  ...Great.  

Game appears to be in a huge decline, what's up?  Not to sound harsh or cynical, 9 years is a long time for a game.  Maybe it is time that Wurm was hung up and Rolf moved onto trying to create a new game.  Something more simple to fit his coding experience.

[mod edit]  everything I wrote is true.  The game and development isn't so hot right now, and I don't see Rolf doing much about it.  You can't deal with it by [mod edit]  ignoring it, that won't fix anything, Wulfgar.  

Troll or no troll, some questions need to be answered and that ain't happening here, which is where we are directed now that the website and forums are down. The blog offers no other information other than it'll take a few weeks. Even the new twitter feed offers no information other than a drake set is being given away at a maze in game on Saturday.

Exactly where are we supposed to be getting information from Wulfgar?

In my opinion, I think Epic and Chaos are going to go away shortly, likely never to be replaced with anything PvP related. Epic is an utter failure and Chaos needs to be put down like a gimped horse. That's about the only thing I can read out of the lack of intel coming from the staff.

Elevation today at 9pm GMT (or 3pm EST for Americans) had 21 people.  An hour later it had 11.

These are problems, big ones.  This is an empty server as a peek time.  Then instead of discussing players like Wulfgar + Ganks just want to sweep it under the rug and claim it is trolling.  I am trying to help fix the problems here, yet it's sad that the community is so at war with eachother they can't agree of the EXISTENCE of a problem.  

Entendu had a great suggestion he posted on the old forums before they went down. He wanted to combine all of Epic into one map, the way that is should be. I think most of the problem is that there are far too many servers, so downsizing on the amount that are currently running should certainly fix it. I'm also not all too fond of the current Chaos/Wild server still being up, as in my opinion the server died out years ago.

This thread amuses me. The forums and wiki aren't gone, they're just disabled from public access so they can be moved to a more secure source.

This thread is worth a giggle as are all the original posters posts.

Firstly I've played games by a huge company in SOE for years and they scew up more than anyone, so an inde game with 3 staff can hardly be moaned at when they have the odd issue.

Sure the communication has been very poor from the devs as to what is going on but aside from that it's not that bad.

The site will be up in time, granted it should have been done by now in some minimal form at least. Not the 1995 angelfire style site we have now, christ I could put up a better site than that in a few hours.

The reasons given for the hack were misleading and a clearing of the inserted data plus a move to another php based forum would be easy with plenty of tools out there to make the move. There is no need for a move to another web language as it's not the language at fault but the coding of the forum software.

All that said, I will continue to play the game as apart from bad communication of the issues and progress on what's happening, Wurm is a great game that offers things no other MMO does for me. I play on Deliverance so can't comment on the epic servers but it does sound like merging everyone into one server (even if it means creating a new map for people to move to), is the way forwards for that.

I also travelled to Chaos recently and it is very quiet at least on the coast, though I was visiting a friend who was part of an alliance full of people Again I can't comment that much after a weeks visit.

Be patient, remember issues you've had yourself when you have taken flak from people and how you felt. At the end of the day there are a few issues at the moment mostly around the web side of the game, in time they will be fixed.

The original poster has gone way overboard in sensationlising the headline for the post and is in my opinion, either thinking rashly or just wanting reaction from people. In my reply here I've tried to give a more measured opinion of what I think is going on. :)

Continue enjoying the game for those of you that can look past the odd issue.

We understand why Wurm fans have been coming here more recently, but please refrain from calling each other trolls and baiting each other. 

Dips in the playerbase are common especially during certain times of year. Plus tons of awesome have games have just come out or are coming out, you doom seekers said the same thing when skyrim came out. When the elder scrolls MMO comes out there will be a thread saying wurm is dieing too. LOL

Bottom line is wurm is small, and doesn't advertise yet and is not main stream, the smaller population will be affected more noticeably by huge game releases and times of year people stray away from the pc.

Epic is not dieing, many people are loving it and the pvp is good. We got 7 kills in a few hours on the weekend and from all kingdoms. Even got a kill on the Mongol capital deed. :)

Wurm is not dieing and it won't anytime soon. These threads come out all the time over the years. None of them is ever been correct, and I doubt it will be this time. Why do you guys keep spamming these posts right after the other ones get locked?

I am sure the wurm forum mods are loving their vacation!

Yes, we can read spanish.  Your name is just the Spanish version of TonyGreen.  Clever, but hilarious that even on this forum you got banned.  LOL.  So the only break the forums mods are getting is from yourself on alts.  

Congrats you got 7 kills in a few HOURS?  Hours?  Great, I can go start up Mount and Blade and get 7 kills in a few minutes.  I can go start up WoW can get 7 kills in a few minutes.  I can go on Independence and find 7 people in less than 10 minutes.  I don't get also what it matters if you killed a Mongol or not?  What does that even mean, we killed Mongols too.  They aren't Gods.  

Sorry, but if you think 7 players in the course of 3-4 hours is impressive... you're heavily heavily heavily mistaken.  That is not fun, what would be fun if there was hundreds playing and PvP constantly, not sparingly as it is now.  

Again this is the biggest problem - players like Tonygreen.  They sit there with a smile on their face and say, "everything is okay, we got 7 kills."  Okay?  You are just attempting to sweep problems and issues under the rug and cover it up and say everything is fine.  There's no shame or concern in saying there are problems in the game you love.  Wurm has problems, Epic has many problems.  It is dying out, and very quickly.  The player graphs prove such.

You can't just turn a blind eye to it all and say because you found 7 people in the course of HOURS that it's totally awesome and fun!  It's not.  Epic and PvP could be so much more better and popular, but if you wish to just keep being ignorant and convincing people it's good as-is, then we won't ever see that day.
