Was in stress test today and had no lag or disconnects. Have not found a single bug yet in the 2 beta events I have participated in. Game moves away from Wow quest hub model which is great. Think WAR pq's with one main quest story line. My one concern, and I know its beta, is that my frames are quite low. I have a decent machine, 2.5 I5 running at 3.6, 8gb ram, 470gtx, and on lowest settings, its not much more than a slide show if there are a lot of people around. I hope they can optimize the client before release. It is beta so hopefully they will, but so often companies aren't able to...ala WAR, AoC etc. I'm not playing anymore tonight, because playing games with low frames gives me a headache, literally...it bothers my eyes. I just took a couple of apirin and am calling it a night for GW2. Looks good, but they need to opitimize the client. |

the game is very, very cpu heavy, its not your gfx card, i got a radeon 6950 and cant play wvwvw . if i run everything in high, or low, no difference on performance, dunno why, i think its because my 4 year old cpu is too old. might be the same with you, anyways, its cpu heavy as well as gpu heavy, but when it runs, it really looks and fells good, just not in wvwvw :)
edit: my gfx card is new, the rest is very very old, just to clarify |

edit: if youre a ranger, your pet will do that, always has, not a bug, weird but trie ;)
edit 2: before the storm: your pet wil not die but walk back to you, being unable to fight, that is a "dead" pet, just so the flamers know. :) |

Just stopped with stresstest and ive run almost for 4 hours fraps in citys and most in WvWvW and had no lag at all or framerate problems and we where manytimes with around 50 players and enemy spamming attacks. Ive only have x58 MB CPU 920 at 3.5ghz DDR3 6gig 1600 AMD radeon 6970 win7 64bit and it run smoothly with fraps or without i did not notice any difference. Oh play on highest settings btw. My concern so far is party have to try few times to be in same parallel server as my friends this was not that smooth hehe.
For the rest again had blast with stress test was awesome:)

Originally posted by slowpoke68 There are quite a few reports on the official forum about the performance and I think it is down to your cpu. For example I had no noticable problems at all with an i7-2k6 @ 3.4, 8GB RAM with my old 9800GTX (I know I should upgrade soon). Even when frapsing I had 15-20+ fps in PvP at keep gates and I really didn't notice it at all. I think it will be more optimised for the next beta weekend, the client we had for the stress test was pretty much the same.

Seems to me the engine isn't optimized at all currently, i didn't hear my turbine starting (the GFX fan) at all (it does so when i play other games), which leads me to believe the game doesn't currently use ANY GFX acceleration, more than that i've been hearing the game only uses 1 core at the moment. So go figure out. Currently playing: FTB Ultimate Waiting for: Wildstar, ArcheAge, Class4. Dead and Buried: GW2, SWTOR, Darkfall, AO, AC2, Vanguard, CoH/V, EnB, EVE, Neocron, FE, EQ, EQ2, DAoC, FFXI, SWG, WoW, and billions of eastern junks! |

i dont think they optimized it at all for today's build. im waiting for the next BWE. i run a 920 at 4ghz, gtx570. cities are slow, WvW is decent with 50+ people, open world is silky smooth. i wasnt able to enjoy LA yet because it's a slideshow basically . |

I just hope that the CPU focus is just a temporary thing. My PC ran better playing TSW than it did GW2. I had no issues out away from people in the wilds of the world, but getting into the city and near other players, my FPS would start to tank and become almost a slide show. Everything else about the game is fantastic. Really, really hope they plan to add full video card usage and take away from CPU usage. |

They had a thread with a list of current issues and one of the things listed is that the game is CPU bound right now, it barely uses your GPU for the moment so I'm guessing that we will all notice a nice increase in FPS soon. |

Did you happen to read the second paragraph of the launcher page? Due to the nature of the Stress Test, you might encounter crashes, disconnects, login difficulties, performannce issues (lag), or problems transferring between maps. You were warned and yet you come here and complain about it. Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not. |

Originally posted by Amjoco Yes, as I stated in my post, I understand it is beta. But how many times have we heard in the past that the client would be optimized for launch, like WAR, AoC, but they weren't, and the company wasn't able to, until 6 months after launch or what have you. I hope this isn't another case. Hopefully it won't be because the rest of the game seems so polished. |

I myself got a i5-quadcore 2500 cpu, 16gb ram. 560Gtx Ti. Besides the black screen i had at the first 5min when trying to get into character screen. I had absolutely no issues at all - no lag - no nothing. Smooth run all in all. I tried out both Norn & human. Afaik Charr starting area etc was quite overflooded by people, so that might have been issue if you were playing that specific race. All in all quite impressed by the game sofar. Looks stunningly beautyfull. Looking forward to try out the Sylvari. |

They're optimizing the game and when that's done the game will partically run on your CPU and partically on your GPU and that's when you'll start seeing your FPS are going to be quite okay. |
