I hate blizzard first off, i cant even post on their stupid forums because i dont have a character for a game that isnt even out yet and i never played WOW. This is why im here.

I have had nothing but bad luck when it comes to this POS installer and patcher, the Agent.exe file keeps crashing therefore the Game doesnt install, nothing on thei forums is helping at all.  And i do not have any viruses, all services and processes are system alone.

Very pissed off atm that ic ant install this and the fact that i cant even post on their Damn forums as i have no character for a game ive never played yet.

You don't have to have a virus for a patcher/installer to crash. Corrupt system files can easily be the culprit

Scroll down a bit and it says that the installer would be locked until 8:01 PDt May 14.

Well i have deleted allt he Blizzard files and started over no luck.

Problem for me atm is that this is a game with a ghuge budget behind it, it should not have this kind of problem with a damn launcher.  Ive installed a few games over the last two weeks, 1 in fact yesterday without issue. I am not reinstalling Win 7 and going through that whole crap just for a game.

Point is its pathetic that its not working for so many people and even more so that i can use their forums for help.

I probably won't be able to help much as I'm about to go to work, but I will say that you haven't provided much info for anyone to help you with this issue.

save the download where u had before and it should fix and replace file

when downlaoding the game wait for the installer to pop up..dont close at 100%

Yeah it is open now that has been for awhile.

Could be a currupt download, maybe try and run the install as an admin, You're downloaded files should equal ~7.6GB

Still cannot install this shiate.!

So much for wasting coing on the digital pre-purchase, i should have gone into a store.  Still same error regarding the Agent.exe file stopping and prompting.

Its really bad when a big company like Blizzard screws up the biggest release they have had in years this bad, reading the forums about 70-80% of people who bought the digital download pre order cant install the game for various reasons, this is somethiong i would expect from Aventurine or Starvault not Blizzard...

here is my error message for anyone that might be able to help...only thing ive read that works is a complete reinstallation of the OS...and well not happening..

Mine wasn't working either, clicked setup and nothing happened. Tried the fix, the updater pops up and finishes and then nothing happens.

Starting redownloading the pre-download and its different.

I had tons of issues with the predownloader and updater.

Blizzard did a crappy job of explaining things and you have to look around to get help.

I'd suggest:

1)  Delete the directories:

C:\ProgramData\Battle.net

C:\ProgramData\Blizzard Entertainment

2) Restart in safe mode with networking

3) Make sure a minimum of other apps are running

Ty, but tried all that...i actually downloaded WOW just to make a character so i could post on the forums :P...but guess what Agent.exe crashed on the wow updating too, it appears to be a win 7 x64 issue and has been this way for about a month now. 

Would have been nice if Blizzard would have stated this prior and i never would have bought it online.

On another note does anyone have the predownloader or where i can still acquire it...perhaps somewhere to get the install files without using agent.exe?

Wish I could help more.  I had issues for about a week or so and also have Win 7 64 bit.  I wasted about 25Gig of bandwidth redownloading the predownload.  I eventually reached a point where it was downloaded and would update but not open the installer.  I could get it to open the installer if I ran setup.exe in Win XP SP3 compatability mode but the normally useless blizz customer service mentioned that it could create problems with future updates.  I believe the last change I made that alleviated the compatability mode requirement was the following that was mentioned by users long before Blizzard:

Their D3 and MoP updater and installer is crap on Windows 7.  Luckily I didn't have a problem installing today. 

If you haven't you may want to run CCleaner.  Some people took the drastic measure of reinstalling Win 7 but at this point I would never do that for one game.

Most of the people having issues are on Win 7 64 bit.  That doesn't mean most people with Win 7 64 bit are having problems.

Years and years ago I would have to re-download things multiple times and I always assumed it was "torrent" issues.  Purchased new hard drive and problems went away completely!

I also would run hacked together 3rd rate zombie PC's built with random cheap parts as I could afford them.  My Last 2 PC's were built from the ground up with all new parts and a bit of proper research... Flawless operation since day one!

I think this is a good sign, being upset is an emotion, getting emotional about a game is a good thing!  Would be pretty sad if no one gave 2 shits about this game!  Unfortunate that you're angry at it!  But i'm sure you'll figure it out and be happy to hack-n-slash away with the rest of us!

If i was the only one with the problem i would agree to buy new gear, but ,many people are having the same issue, and it really sucks lol.  BTW still cant figure out why the agent.exe keeps stopping for me at 12 %. guess i wont be playing D3 afterall.  Blizzard can go to hell for their POS launcher.

Hi, I created an account to just tell you I just had the exact same problem with agent.exe : the install crashed at 15%.

But this worked for me (turned off avast and malwarebyte) and I am now at 77% and going good.
