Will google spoil the fun of the puzzles and challenges in the quest?

It just can't be helped. If the game disabled your browser, people would ...complaint :p If you can't beat them -join them. Make an in-game browser. They did just that. |

SPOILER ALERT!!! >>
One of the first puzzle quests in the Templar story line involves getting files from a computer, but you need to enter a password. The computer gives two hints and using those two hints in google (in ingame browser) brings you a step closer to the answer. You still have to figure it out (altho not that hard).
Those are actually the things great about TSW! Finally something different from the endless FedEx/Kill quest mold we endured the last decade! Altho ofcourse TSW has those quests too unavoidably. |

Yes, some of the quests qill require you to use google to find the answer. Even with google, it might take a while to figure out. |

It depends on how you use it. If you just straight look for the solution then yes it will spoil it. But people are meant to google the hints and stuff the quests gives because there's no other way to find the answers in game. |

Yeah you need to use google to solve the puzzles, but you're not googling for the answer you are googling for the clues you need to solve it.
Also, sometimes when you google the clues the TSW official forums will be in the results. Avoid clicking on those links to stay away from spoilers. Shadow's Hand Guild The Secret World - Dragons Planetside 2 - Terran Republic Tera - Dragonfall Server |

The problem with these is that, after release but already in the beta week end, when you google something game related, the first likely results will be.... from Comunity forums of people talking about those quests and their solutions. Of course nothing compell you to check those out :D

Mini Spoilers
How else do you get the running time on the single version of the safety dance? Use wiki for it and the other song btw, length is on the right of the page.
Later on it will be very easy to get entire missions shown on YouTube, as one of the investigation ones already has, but at this point many are not, and it encourages a helpful general chat community, with people figuring out ways to give clues cryptically, almost RPing.
Some will be lazy and get answers fast, but hopefully enough will get into the spirit of things, as many did in this event. Several of us where on the white raven mission and none spoiled it, only giving hints and I am very, very glad they did, amazing mission.

i've read the developers plan to change parts of the investigation missions as well (passwords and such or per the post above, the song you may need to look up) so looking up the answers all the time, if you like that sort of thing, won't always be possible. |

You know the quests require you to sue google right? Google is built into the game check the ingame browser next time you log in. One question here (didn't get to do that particulat quest). When you use the in-game browser, are you using the regular google or a limited version for the game?. If you so use regular google I can see it being spoiled a bit, though, since after the game is released and people starts looking for it more often you'll start to see straight up answers for the quests popping in the first places just by searching. What can men do against such reckless hate? |
