Originally posted by Distopia actually I haven't been breaking NDA since I started talking about TSW. MOST of what I have said in the past about the game was open knowledge or visible clearly from what little footage is out there. You are correct about me having broken the NDA before though.. I had once or twice in frustration. Beta stage games only have customer service issues regarding the SPECIFIC game.. since funcom uses a master account like NCsoft this doesn't apply. The issues are broad. Also I still got the thank you for participating in beta please fill out this survey.. one would think that they wouldnt want my opinion if they banned me =P.
@WickedJelly, saw you post so im adding a response. Yes I defended Anet because of the pure VOLUME of the beta and as I clarified here I am talking about master account issues not simply a beta access issue which would be expected. I had similar issues with Funcom regarding my AoC account in the past and this issue involved that game as well because I could not access anything because of their faulty service.

Originally posted by ariboersma I'm not defending Funcom customer service. They were pathetic the first couple months AOC was live until they actually properly staffed themselves. Just seems like a double standard to me. Volume or no. Carry on though. Last thing I want to do is be defending Funcom. I have no love for the company regardless whether I might enjoy this game or not. 1. For god's sake mmo gamers, enough with the analogies. They're unnecessary and your comparisons are terrible, dissimilar, and illogical. 2. To posters feeling the need to state how f2p really isn't f2p: Players understand the concept. You aren't privy to some secret the rest are missing. You're embarrassing yourself. 3. Yes, Cpt. Obvious, we're not industry experts. Now run along and let the big people use the forums for their purpose. |

Originally posted by Wickedjelly naw not double standard, the issue is a beta account which is game specific vrs a master account. example.. if the GW2 beta issues affected me playing Aion or GW1. If that were the case I wouldn't have defended the situation. Also I have expressed my issues with NCsoft int he past and that it took them 4-5 years to repair their rep with me(basically I gave them a second chance when Aion came out and although the game wasn't for me the customer service was fine by then). Whats funny is with Funcom this is the reverse.. I enjoyed dealing with the company until recently when my first issue was getting to access my AoC account once it went F2P.

Wow, this thread blew up while I was away.
I don't give a shit about my beta account. I just don't want legal ramifications. I didn't know that I had even accepted an NDA, and therefore obviouslly didn't read it. If somone can confirm that the only ramification is account loss, then I will post a detailed review. |

Yes, you accepted the terms of the NDA if you played it.
Somethings are better left as a secret... *disappointed sigh* |

Without going into detail about the Closed Beta, and not violating the NDA. [mod edit]

Originally posted by ariboersma You didn't really outline that before, you just talked about verification so my bad. Still about NDA, it's generally considered a breach to share an opinion about your experience, IE: game's no fun, it's bad, etc.. is still a no-no. Let's just wait for tomorrow and test it ourselves, instead of arguing about nothing. |

Originally posted by Abdiell MMORPG will also take actions against you for posting info on this board that violates the NDA. Originally posted by Nitth No I don't t hink so. TSW is going to be a retail product very soon. I certainly took the time to evaluate the beta. Definitely not my cup of tea. No harm no foul. I'm not crying to the forums about how it ruined my summer or anything. So in summary, no I do not think it's selfish. As far as reporting data back to Funcom regarding my beta experience by playing more? They can get the hint from my short play sessions and in game chat log. |

Sucks for the industry, but the industry created this monster. |
