This was my number one game to wait for until the big PvP revamp last year. Really stopped looking into this game at that point but I will be playing this BWE only because there is nothing to do and you never know it might surpise me like GW2 did. |

Originally posted by jdnewell I agree, you definitely got that right, its not for WoW or EQ2 enthusiasts, especially the gamers that have a low end machine. Anyways, those types of gamers can find GW2 or TERA to their liking. I am just glad there isn't any Elves, Dwarves and Orcs in a colorful and pastel setting. |

Could you upload some videos of your first impressions, please. I don't want to watch videos in which someone learns the game the first time, because they are sometimes really boring, but genuine first impressions give a taste of what players can expect from a game. I don't have access to the BWE, but there are a lot of philosophies TSW and GW2 and especially GW1 share and mechanics might be similar. Hence I am interested in this game aswell. |

anyone who is looking for a key can go to the gamespot website, they are giving keys out there for the BWE. I've seen videos and im not really excited about this game, but seeing as its in the modern world and such i think giving it a try is worth it since it is something "new" and quite uncommon in terms of setting...... who knows, just going in with low expectations :P hope it's good. |

Originally posted by jdnewell Completely agree. I didn't want to go into too much detail with my original post because of the NDA, but yes, this game is a breath of fresh air to the genre. It's hard to explain, but I felt something I never felt before in all the recent MMOs I've played. If I had to describe it, I'd call it "unfamiliar" (whereas I would describe my last MMO, SWTOR, as very familiar). In my case, unfamiliar was a good thing. This might change in the future for all I know, but I like what I've seen so far. |

Originally posted by IPolygon we cant post any videos yet. Only the beta weekend is still not under NDA. Some people will probably have some stuff posted from the weekend event I am sure. All i can say is at least do yourself a favor and give it a try on a weekend event. It may or may not be your cup of tea, it wont be everyones, but you can then make an informed decision. |

Its pretty good so far, character creation is atrocious everyone looks alike. You need a screaming rig otherwise gameplay will be gimped as you will miss vital clues wo a top notch grphics setting. It is a hard game, you cant solo very much at all. |

Funcom and SOE have a greater hate following than a fan following. Both have screwed up too many games to be taken seriously in this genre by anyone who has been around long enough to see it. The only difference is that SOE ruins games that were once great whereas Funcom never lets theirs become great in the first place. For most players I have seen this evolution with, they will never purchase or even partake in a free trial from either of these companies thanks to "bad blood" no matter how good it is.
Personally, I am not blown away in beta but I am hopeful. It has certainly fallen in hype on here for a reason. To each their own. |

There must not have been to many ppl to get into CB from my expierence today, i cant really go into much more detail tho cause of the NDA. I will say one thing, its addictive as freakin hell, I cant stop thinking about wanting to log back in every minute im not logged in.

Originally posted by jdnewell As someone very much looking forward to this game, and having been jilted in the past by pre ordering games that turned out to fall flat for me, I am glad to have read this post. A single post like this one, is worth 10 of the "TSW is trash because its FUNCOM" that seem to proliferate mmo forums. Thanks for your 2 cents!

Anyone who likes the difficulty of old school mmos will love TSW, its not for the casual/solo gamer. |

TSW seems to be a game that needs to have a trial as much as any game....I'd imagine shortly after launch they will have some sort of free trial. |

A fine line you ride with this thread. I hope the Funcom Gods look the other way on this one. It needed to be said.

The way I see it is this. As much as everyone bitches and moans about wanting something different they really dont. Here are a few examples of complaints from boards. ( not breaking NDA Mods, this is common knowledge) - What do you mean I have to group? But I like Soloing and dont want to group. -Why cant I have 25 quests in my log? I keep having to run back and forth ( your doing it wrong, thats the WoW, Rift, ect themepark mindset) -Puzzles? I dont like puzzles, why do I have to do them -I keep getting my ass handed to me by mobs.- Were you grouped?- Well no I like to solo....... -I keep dying while doing the quests, its too hard- Are you grouped and trying to solve the puzzles & traps as a group?- No.. I dont like to group. - Why isnt the PvP an e-sport type? are there plans to make the PvP an E-sport? I dont wanna play if it isnt You get the point. Even tho there are a metric shit ton of games that people can solo in ( Rift, EQ2, WoW, ect), or have an e sport pvp system ( GW, WoW, Ect.) or dont have puzzles, or dont require any type of grouping at all. People complain its not in TSW. No flashy colored backgrounds- Wahhht?? I want the rainbow color backgrounds No 800lb 1h swords that it would take a crane to lift? What? this game sucks No shoulder pads that look so over the top rediculous? No way I am playing I cant run this on my top of the line gaming rig? ( which is a 4 year old dell with a $50 520gts and 2 gigs of RAM) This game sucks, my gaming rig wont run it.
Sigh... And the sad thing is I only made up a few of those. The rest I read on the boards o.O |

Yea, there's no game on this planet or any other that will satisfy everybody (unless you are a GW2 raving mad fan.. which too, will pass..).
The Secret World will be a great niche game, and after the influx of haters, griefers, and overall doom-wishers have come and gone, my hope is that a solid mature community is what is left in the game. The game has so much potential - and it is less Funcom I'm worried about, more the players that will destroy it. (like everything else...)
