This thread makes my head hurt.

If it adds a little fuel to the fire - I installed the client with no issue.... On a Mac..  In Parallels (Virtulization / Fake Windows 7 / No Official Video Diver Support)..  And it fired right up..  As for the game itself - well, we'll see later.

But it is a beta - so some arguments are thrown out the window simply on that.   Hell, for all the praise GW2 was getting, there were equal amounts of people that the game didn't run, or ran like shat for.    Again, beta.    

On top of that, it is Funcom.  Not that I am bashing Funcom, but they like to 'do things different' ..  and historically, they over-extend on the new features and concepts further than they can properly develop for them.    (such as AoC's combat, graphics, etc..)   What and how TSW unfolds, we don't know, but unfortunately, people are very quick to be critical and hate Funcom just by the nature of them BEING Funcom.   So give it a rest people, wait till your allowed beta time opens, and go from there.  

Bet the "solution" is to wait for the proper driver and crossfire profile from AMD to support the game....

Don't blame someone else for your lack of knowledge. Mine downloaded just fine... :)

years ago in the days of Anarchy they didn't support my chipset so I crashed if I played on my frankenstein pc, its the comp that got my old stuff.  I don't think it had a video card but the onboard power should have been enough....not a huge fan of FC Customer support

If it's like Conan, expect the game to be playing a year or so after launch.  Welcome to Funcom games.

Alot of games dont support crossfire or SLI. And it is your problem for not knowing that you should have tried disabling crossfire before you call them, then come here to bitch and moan about lack of support for a beta that has not even started.

I asked FUNCOM if they will support crossfire and was told there are no plans at the moment. There you go. So much for future support...

Also, I posted this first on the official forum and another gentleman told me he also has the same issue on a SINGLE chip GPU that he wasnt able to resolve with the tech support guy and he told me the error will return to me as well...

I never did the 3gig switch but in case things go back to being screwed Ill try that...

Holy crap this thread is funny. Do you know how many huge game titles aren't released with crossfire support? Skyrim anyone? It's not a standard feature yet. In my opinion funcom did dumbasses a favor by giving them an error when they launch with crossfire on. Otherwise they'd be the ones posting on forums "Why is my fps's so bad? I have a great machine!". My god, if your going to crossfire and sli atleast KNOW how that stuff works. Damnit.

Glad I went with Nvidia if it is an ATI Crossfire problem. 2560x1600 Windowed (borderless) everything set to max and running DX11 client.  Haven't had one crash, one error, or anything of the like.  Think it's kind of funny that my G19 keyboard also supports it, when it doesn't support like 90% of the games I already own

hahaha, I just find it funny that my 3 years old notebook is looking to run this game better than yours top of the line pc...

Also the fact that theyre only releasing a dx9 client when others had access to dx11 client is plain ridiculous...

They did the same thing with AOC beta. I had a friend in beta and I got a beta key off Fileplanet at the time. There was two different clients and the one given to open beta players ran like utter shit. I was so damn mad. If I remember right they left the debug mode on and it caused the game to run in slow motion.

Funny I didnt pay to access the Beta Weekend Event. How much did they charge you for the weekend? I did pay to have access to the game when it releases, however, which is to be expected since GW2 isnt a completely free to play game but rather a one time purchase for full access model.

So did you  pay for just the weekend? or did they charge you extra for it?

$250 was a conscious decision, you spent money on an unknown product.
Beta is going to be full of bugs, how did you not expect this?

But thank you now we now know that this issue exists and hopefully funcom can resolve it for future customers.
