Originally posted by Muntz You weren't really paying for the test though, if I remember correctly. The fee was for shipping and handling, because you were mailed the CD. Edit: to be fair, ArenaNet is not actually charging you for the beta test. You've purchased the game and you're not paying anything extra for the beta. The BWEs are basically a bonus for pre-purchasing the game.

You can call me all the crybaby you want but this is not a $10 game, at least for people like me that work and have to pay bills I dont want to make an investment in something that at the end I may not like. I just want a chance to beta, I signed for the beta, I was confirmed for the Beta and I didnt get in the beta unless I pay the whole $59 at front. It is like going to the shoe store to buy a pair of shoes and the vemdor says to you, I got the best shoes in the world for you. They cost $59 but you cant try them you have to buy them AS IS. Sorry that is unprofessional, crooked, deceiving and disrespectful. I play GW, have all the expansions and at least the least they could do was to allow their past customers entrance into the BETA. |

So they stopped the pre-sales at NA before the BWE because they reached the limit for the beta event an you expected to be invited wihout pre-puchase it? Maybe next time they leave someone out, that bought the game, so they can invite you.. They probably got tons of players contacting their suport with game issues. You send a ticket just complaining you werent invited and you wanted an answer...

A rather disapointing thread. I came here hoping to read an indepth discussion about personal experiances on the BWE and an itemized recount of all the good and bad points of the game. I almost felt there could have been an attached video, or maybe some screenshots. I feel like I just bought a bag of tangy cheese dorrito's with only a single slice of lightly salted at the bottom. :(

Hold on everyone, I think I may have found a video of the OP as a child. |

My care-o-meter is refusing to budge. Your sense of entitlement is exactly what is wrong with people today. You didn't earn or pay for anything you are complaining about so why do you feel you deserve it? This company owes you nothing. Not even an explaination. |

So if I understand you:
-Signed up for beta = A-net obligated to give you access
And
-People who took seconds to sign up for beta = People who contributed actual money to the game
Is that about right? |

The beta signups were for a CHANCE at getting in...they chose people at random (or using their own internal criteria) to do beta and alpha testing (alpha is going on 24/7 and there are lot of people doing that).

To OP: Thats the way Betas work. You win some, you lose some. The pre-orders are just a last ditch effort for people who didnt get in to closed beta to still be able to give their feedback. |

as for how i see it beta sign ups was idd a change and those who wants to play game anyway pre ordered and are entitled to try the game aswell. so i do work aswell and have family to feed but one game price is not gona ruin my economy, or ifit does the whole economy of mine is fucked up.

SO your entire complaint is essentially "I didn't get invited to beta"? Join the club. For every minute you are angry , you lose 60 seconds of happiness."-Emerson If you can't argue the point don't say anything at all. |

I really don't think they are trolling. I suppose if I didn't have the money, was was under the age of 15, and I was obsessed with GW2 (as I actually am now) then there is a chance that one of my posts might resemble something like this one. I think previous poster said it best: You don't want a beta, you want a trial and you will just have to wait. |
