Originally posted by Boraell Considering the info that has already been leaked, I know a lot of people will be disappointed. From that alone, the game doesn't look or sound like an Elder Scrolls game. I wouldn't be surprised if they had preset classes too. Also, RTS to MMORPG is completely different than RPG to MMORPG. A more accurate description, though not entirely the same, would be KOTOR to SWTOR. I'm not going to say whether or not this game will be bad, it's much to early for that. But you can't blame people for being critical for the way the game is looking already. |

I just read the review from the listing the OP provided. How disappointing!! After reading the article, I couldn't help but wonder why such an article would even be published! No hype, no allowing future players with great expectations of things to come. Just kind of a "HO HUM" this is what we're going to offer-similar to Star Wars. And I thought, why would I want to play such a mediocore game? |

Originally posted by Vyeth Warcraft: RTS --> RPG. Elder Scrolls: RPG --> RPG. Elder Scrolls is already an RPG. Making it multiplayer doesnt mean they should change the gameplay so substaintially. For example, when Warcraft I was released, it was not an online game. Now the main feature of Warcraft is arguably multiplayer play. But did the core game experience change? No. Play as your fav retro characters: cnd-online.net. My site: www.lysle.net. Blog: creatingaworld.blogspot.com. |

And this time all it took was 1 day for me to not like this MMO. |

Let me rephrase that. I don't mind people getting pissed off when they see shit like-
In response to half of TES mechanics being scrapped. |

So it's nothing like Elder Scrolls it's just another tired and boring experience with a different name. Crossing this one off the list. |

Whoever thought this was a good idea? Like, seriously, who thought removing everything that makes an elder scrolls game was a good idea? Can we now start the Elder Scrolls Betrayal Campaign 2012?
Does the online community need to choke a bitch...again? |

Could give a pass over the use of race locked factions, lack of player housing, and some of the other minor points. But adding Classes, Hotbars, and removing FPS/TPS style combat ruins it for me. That and they are falling prey to the everyone is the Nevarine reborn or Dragonborn type story that is so rampant in these MMOs. I also haven't seen Bethesda name attached only Zenimax, which tells me its being made by a completely different team. Hence why even the feel of the lore and styling probably will go totally SNAFU. |

This is just saddening. Why does The Elder Scrolls need to be an MMO in the first place? A new Elder Scrolls game with a focus on small-scale multiplayer would've been just fine in 99% of everyone who's ever loved the series' eyes. Imagine "Skyrim" with 4-8 of your friends. Holy crap.
Instead we get a generic WoW-clone that strips the Elder Scrolls of practically everything that it makes it what it is; an MMO that's going to have to compete with it's father WoW and it's new expansion, as well as countless other generic WoW-like MMO's that are already out and coming out in the near-and-far future. And then of course there's other non-WoW-like MMO's such as GW2, The Secret World, TERA, etc. that are just going to make the genericness of this game stand out all the more.
Here's hoping there's something that isn't being revealed that really changes things for the better. |

Originally posted by ABRaquel No sir, it's a rumor. Those other sites are all basing their articles off the same "leak", not verified information.
Keep something in mind. The cover story is in the GI issue that is basically a month away, and bethesda is releasing info exclusively to GI. GI is doing an entire month long reveal on thier website, releasing litle bits of info each week up to the june issue going on newstands. If it's a publicity stunt, you woudln't verify or deny anything. The enite point of it is to get people discussing it. What better way to get people talking about the game, and dying to find out "official" information, then for there to be a leak that the best selling single player, sandbox RPG is going to finally become MMO, and it'll be a wow clone (The entire leak is geared towards that one premise, why would they mention wow on just about page?) Even if it's not a publicity stunt, but someone's idea of an epic troll, it would only beneifit GI to not say anything. It's not like the game is coming out tomorrow, it's a year away. Any false information that goes out now will be easilly corrected over the course of the next month, and all the attention will only drive traffic on the GI website, were they've got a portal set up just for TESO. IF it's not true, not saying anything now won't hurt anything, but will benefit GI over the coming month. That leak guaranteed that the June issue of GI, if it wouldn't have been already, will be the highest selling GI issue of the year. People are going to buy the issue just to seee if the leak is true. |

Originally posted by SEANMCAD Wait, are you actually saying you believe they are going to make the MMO classless like the single player game...lol, boy you are in for a butt hurt. Asherons Call was the last MMORPG to go classless and it wasnt really classless. Just allowed you to mix and match anything and everything with a limited amount of points to spend on your choices. So you could wield a sword and still cast spells but you couldnt train everything and thus could gimp yourself. That kind of game wont be made again, too many MMO players cry fowl when they have to think and plan. “I hope we shall crush...in its birth the aristocracy of our moneyed corporations, which dare already to challenge our government to a trial of strength and bid defiance to the laws of our country." ~Thomes Jefferson |

Its NOT an elderscrolls game and that Bethesda is allowing this atrocity to carry a TES name is shamefull. People havent been trying to make high quality multiplayer mods for the TES games for years because they want a typical themepark MMO. And yes, there is already enough information to call it a typical themepark MMO. |
