I think that GW2 will have the biggest success out of these 3 MMOs although personally I'm not interested in it. If FC manages to deliver this time TSW will be a hit too. I think that a lot of people have been waiting for this type of game/world setting - modern time, no levels, horror theme, myths to become true. Hopefully Tera keeps blinking on radar longer than a couple of months but I would not bet much on supersized weapons and soft porn in Western countries. On the other hand, the more playable MMOs and choice we have the merrier. |

I'm really excited for TSW. I've never seen a game where you're no longer tied to specific class roles. I haven't given GW2 a shot, but I probably won't be doing TERA because of the things I've been hearing about it. TSW wins simply because customizability, something I've always loved in RPG games is coming to an MMO.

You're forgetting about NeverWinter Nights MMO at the end of the year. That's my pick. |

GW2 will sure get the most, simply because it is F2P (+ expensive cash shop, however). Still I bet my cards on TSW at the moment, at least for the game that interests me the most. I must admit much about TSW is still a mystery. (Yeah, pun intended...) I guess only time will tell. I don't see TERA as a big competitor though, it will likely fare like AION, many at first play it, then the grind drives them away when the "new and shiny" time is passed. Several months ago I would have said GW2 was the clear leader, but it seems to have too many issues to be that clear a top dog. Holy Trinity who art in our MMORPGs! Blessed be thy speccs, as in WOW so in all MMOs! Our daily loot grant us, and forgive us our noobness, as we forgive the noobs! And do not lead us to disconnects, But deliver us from mediocrity, For thine is the specialization and the teamwork and the endgame, Until cancellation, Amen! |

Originally posted by graggok Yep. My personal pick is GW2. Played it, loved it. I tried the TERA beta and it wasn't for me, at all. Just not my thing. I can't speak of TSW, as I haven't tried it. |

Originally posted by Rayshe You might be right, but both Tera and GW2 seems to be a lot more ready for release than TSW as well. It might be a bit unfair since Tera have been out for 1 1/2 years in Korea but FunComs problems have always been the coding. Both AoC and AO are fine game but they both had more bugs than the temple of doom. In my case I will wait a year or so before getting TSW, it seems really fun but I rather not suffer through all the bugs one more time. AO is still famous for the worst launch in MMO history. It is not impossible that some players will do GW2 + TSW or Tera + TSW since the gamestyles and settings are different. |

Funcom's TSW? I stress, funcom.
Asian grinder, Tera? I stress grinder. GW2 with no sub fee and a good open beta? GW2 will be the clear winner. The good news is that there are several mmo options. |

I know Diablo 3 deserves one also.. 2012 will be a show and prove year.. SWTOR set the example of bad.. Who will set the example of good for the year.. Alot of good choices for possible contenders.. Ofc there's a second and third place as well.. One game can't rule them all.. |

Originally posted by Valua Blizzard will most likely pull another stunt to sell MoP just like they did with D3. Funny how everyone makes fun of SWTOR for giving people a free month's play, as a sign of their troubles, when wow gives you f2p to lvl 20. I wonder how long till wow is f2p to lvl 60 or even just f2p entirely; they do already have a cash shop. There's no doubt that wow is bleeding concurrent active players, though I don't see their subs numbers going down drastically anytime soon due to the anual pass scheme to buy D3. The fact that they had to entice players with "free" D3 for a year's worth of wow play says something. Can't stop the bleeding, but you can see them trying to slow it down. No doubt MoP will sell well, as in several million copies; I mean, wow still has at least 10 million subs (can't speak for concurrent active players). However, I believe MoP will be the worse selling expansion of wow. Don't be surprised if you see Blizzard giving away freebies just to get people to buy MoP. There's still life in wow and most likely Blizzard will damn wow to an excruciating slow death over the course of the next couple years. I guess MoP and time will tell. |

I don't think it really comes down to those 3 games. GW2 has given us a great game to play. Without the worry of endgame being stale. TSW I watched for a long time until they made the big PvP revamp last year. I lost interest pretty much in how the game evolved. Tera I played the first CBT and I knew it wasn't the game for me or any different than any other Themepark MMO. Without PvP at launch it will have issues staying at the top for long. Archeage will be the game to challenge GW2 I think. But we have to wait to get more information in the game but it looks great! |
