I've run into a ton of problems just getting their downloader to just download the files. Just look at their support forums for issues with the predownloads for many people. Eventually they downloaded, after some attempts overwrote the previously downloaded files. It wasted 23gig of my internet cap before it downloaded properly.
Right now I'd say it's 50/50 whether or not the predownload even installs properly for me on the 15th as it still refuses to pop up an install button that it's supposed to. Most people can click install and get a message that says "The fire from the sky still falls D3 can't launch".
I'm very disappointed in their untested downloader and agent. I've never seen anything like this. All they needed was a torrent to download the files and there'd be no issue.
Waiting until 3AM for the EST is also lame as hell.

Yeah. I pre-downloaded it several weeks ago. I think it was available for pre-download here in the states as soon as they announced the 5/15 release date.

Originally posted by FrodoFragins There are always a few unlucky people with any kind of software. See, I myself have never had any issues with any Blizzard downloader stuff, be it WoW, SC2 or now D3. It's really uncalled for to immediately assume they haven't tested their stuff. If anything, you should look at your own system. But yeah, I'm sort of weirded out about not being able to install. I should be able to do that, but not be able to start the game up. Atleast that way I know for sure the download isn't corrupted for some reason. Oh well. I wanted to type something really smart as a reply to this subject, but the Scarlet Blade ad got me distracted and I forgot what I wanted to type. |

Got some problems myself, the dowloader just stopped at around 90% or so. But I tried starting the setup anyway, and a windows popped, saying "updating install files" or somthing like that. What actually happened, was that it simply downloaded the rest of the install files. After it was done, I tried running the setup again, and got the message: "The fire from the sky still falls. Diablo III has not yet launched." So my message tells why it can't launch, not just simply that it can't. |

Yeah. I can only think that Blizzard is worried that somehow somebody will crack the game or something and be able to play (at least the single player portion) early. I'm not sure if that's even a possibility with needing an internet connection but Blizzard is probably at least covering all their bases with not allowing you in install it.

Originally posted by Netspook That's not a problem, that's working as expected. It's just that in my case I can't get to that point in the D3 download and they have no reporter built in to help debug the issue.
EDIT: Setting the compatability mode to windows XP for setup finally fixed it. I remember something similar happening for the beta.
There are a lot of issues mainly for people with Win 7 64 bit. The new agent for D3 and MoP often needs to be killed and certain directories deleted. The downloader also has a habit of sometimes deleting files that were downloaded and starting over. That's something that should never happen. |

Originally posted by Force_Fire LOL!! There isn't anything anywhere near as rewarding in life as having kids. Nothing more important you can possibly do either than to pro-create. It does shrink you're available window to game though... until they go off to college. And besides when I'm too old to hold a mouse or see the keyboard, who else will take my verbal commands for Diablo 11?
