This happened to me before GW2.
GW2 is the only MMO I can say I honestly want to play. Other MMOs ruined me on themselves though. GW2 did not ruin me for other MMOs. |

There is this weird feeling inside me after the beta. A gap, an abyss formed in me, it feels wierd, the battle music is playing loudly in my head, i tried new builds for my guardian and ranger in my dream last night. I want to help those hearts out there. this is my story... ops |

My 2 brothers and i loved the game. it's ran great for us. No crashes only 1 chat bug out of 3 days, and relog fixes everythings. This game will be the game of the year. GW2 is the ONLY fun game in the market that not a wow's clone game, we'll be playing in the next beta ( soon, i hope ) with alot of friends. Hope to see u all in game.
ps: Why are there so many hate threads about gw2? is it cool to hate everythings? it's must be cool to hate life, gw2, air, foods. |

I liked MMOs better when gamers didn't play them, and just geeks did. |

I have that too, though for me it's called the TERA effect. Don't get me wrong, I'm still going to play the hell out of GW2, but TERA's combat IMO the best MMO combat ever. I've been doing this a long time...started with EQ1 back in 98 in my early 20s. I've play pretty much every MMO there is (yes i have a problem heheh). I'm really hoping GW2 shows great improvement from this past BWE, because combat was the biggest letdown of the game for me. Everything else was great.
Playing: Nothing Played: AC1, AC2, AO, AoC, CO, CoX, DAoC, DCUO, DN, EVE, EQ1, EQ2,

Its going to be more of the same old same old.....I predict that sometime in the near future you people will realize this and be less inclined to jump on the bandwagons you hitch yourselves to. Don't worry, like women(or men for the ladies on here) , another one will be around shortly....... |

Originally posted by heartless I played it and saw nothing new that hasn't been done in GW1 or other games......You can mix the leggos into different patterns all you like and delude yourself into thinking you have something new, but all you really have is leggos..... Play more games and you'll see...... |

Originally posted by lokiboard On the surface the games does seem similar to other MMOs, especially if you stopped playing before reaching level 5 or if you didn't pay attention to what's going on in the game. If you did, you'd realize just how dynamic this game is. There is a whole other layer of gameplay under the events: the NPCs. Most people overlook them but they actually have meaning in this game. And I'm not talking about quest givers or vendors. I'm talking about random NPCs, which in other games would be window dressing, actually have a purpose in GW2. A lot of the things the ANet is trying with GW2 is new to the genre. Dynamic NPCs that are actually part of the world do not exist in any other MMO to date. A lot of them actually have routines like in Skyrim. Events which lead into other events based on the outcome or have lasting impact on the zones have not been done in other MMOs. The game also places a huge emphasis on exploration, which hasn't really been done in MMOs. There are also a lot of secrets and puzzles that are absent from most MMOs. And that's just the PvE side of things. As far as PvP goes, the simple fact that you can swap weapons in the middle of a fight and and become basically a totally different class has not been done in MMOs either. At the same time, at least of the surface, the game is familiar enough as to not to confuse new players. Which is what you used to make your decision.
