I know there's a thread about things you liked/disliked in the game. But I'd like to hear the best moment in the game, that moment where you thought "Wow, this is pretty damn cool" For me it was when I faced the Shadow Behemoth whatever his name is. I had seen him in a video before, and this was one of those times where it felt much much better than the video. I was missing two way points in Queensdale, so I was exploring trying to find out where they were. I then found a road I hadn't taken before that took me to a Dynamic Event (Not heart quest) where undead shade monsters were coming out from three portals. At first we tried killing the monsters but they kept coming out, so we attacked the portals instead. After closing those three portals the event spread into the swamp, with another three portals there. We went down there and did the same thing, after we closed them I thought we were done... and then the last branch of the Event took place and the Shadow Behemoth spawned. I didn't realize this was going to be the event in the video until it actually spawned I was like "AWESOME" The thing spawned and casted circles in the ground which many didn't bother moving from, a massive amount of downed players right away lol, after reviving people, closing portals to make the boss vulnerable, we got the hang of it and managed to take it down. It was pretty cool the way it took place at least for me, if I hadn't explored this area I would've missed this event. Remember... all I'm offering is the truth. Nothing more. |

Honestly, even if it wasn't the best moment, the most memorable one for me will bee the event at the end of the weekend. While murdering Champion Bloodthirsty Moa after Champion Bloodthirsty Moa isn't some amazing event by any stretch, there was a sense of community in that final hour. Everyone was giddy and joking around and upset about not being able to play more. It felt good.

The pen is mightier than the sword if the sword is very short, and the pen is very sharp. |

I had two though the first was a little anti-climactic. 1) I completed all the WPs, hearts (do they have a name yet?), PoIs and skill points in the 1-15 map area (Norn). It was the first time in a very long time that I bothered to explore everything on a map just to complete. I am sure I got some XP but no balloons (sniffle). 2. There was a rather troublesome skill point in the lvl 15-25 Charr area way up at the top of a tower/wall or whatever (the breached wall area I think?). Took me 15 minutes to find my way up and when I got there I was able to assist another lucky soul who couldn't quite solo the Veteran NPC guarding it. |

Watching Blue army assault Greens castle and right before the wall collapsed the Red army charged Blue's flank and slaughtered them as the wall collapsed then proceeded to slaughter what was left of Green army and take the castle.
Epic, simply epic.

Playing WvW, we were pushing a keep surrounded by what can best be described as a maze of dry moats. We roll around the corner, through a little choke point and into the open above these moats. Then all hell breaks loose, cannon fire, f’ing arrow carts, plus the opposition forces trying to push us back into the choke. My oldest son and I get separated from the main zerg as we try to figure out a way to LOS the wall defenses and take them out. We find ourselves in these moats wall hugging trying to avoid the arrow carts when bam 3 defenders find us. It was 2 v 3 in the trenches with arrows and cannons blasting all around us.. We killed the 3 probably due to good communication and some luck, and as we duck and dive our way out of the trenches we find our team decimated, and we are now behind the enemy counter zerg. Of course we get spotted and about 6 people peel off the zerg and give chase, we escape but have to go way out of our way to do so. Finding ourselves in the trenches so to speak fighting a small scale fight while dodging cannon fire all the while our main group is getting decimated on the paths above us…. Yep I was hooked. The cool thing is it would have been a 5 minute run to get back to the fight had we died.. I hate running so those 3 bad guys in the trenches had a good fight on their hands. With the exception of DAOC I have not had a pvp experience like that in a very long time, I am a happy camper. |
