What are the real selling points of GW2, aside from the PvP aspect?

I haven't looked into much particular detail about the game, but what is there to do at the end-game besides PvP?

I don't see why it still wouldn't appeal to you.  Yes, you may be missing out on half of the game, but they make it so you can level equally effectively in either PvE or PvP, and there is definitely enough content through the DE's, personal story quests, and dungeons, to keep most players happy.

There's a bunch of dungeons, achievements and elite events.

If you're a traditional raider though the game does not have at this point progression raids.

Guild Wars is always going to be about PVP.  Dynamic Events beat the hell out of questing though if that's your thing.  I didn't do any dungeons so not sure how they are but the personal story aspect of the game is better than SWTOR story quests if that's your thing.  If you are a raider then it's probably not for you.  WvWvW is awesome enough that maybe it is time you give PVP a chance.

It's a long time i had that fun in pve tbh.

First mobs are challenging (amazing right?). They are a lot of mass pve events even at low level, boss fight at low level, this is really nice. They are a lot of strange event you probably never saw in other mmo, my favorite was snow ball fight with npc kids (you have to aim and throw them snow balls ;p) and defend them against wasp. The combat is very dynamic, so you feel like you need to master something, rather than just you know watch a screen during combat.
I didn't tried the dungeons, but i found a jumping parkour, but i was solo and lower level, so it was just too hard, this one seamed to be for small groups, maybe because i was lower level.

Honestly i liked both aspect pve and pvp very much, didn't know what to choose :p

I dont think you will be intereseted in the longterm if you are a raider. But if you aint into raiding or pvp i guess it will be as good as any other title.

The pve content seems worthy enough to do a few times befor you get bored but its hard for me to guess as everyone is different. But gw2 strong point in longterm gameplay is deffently pvp.

I like PVP just as much as I like PVE.  I gotta say, I was so busy with PVE over the beta weekend that I completely ignored any PVP.  I spent 100% of my time in PVE, and it was great.

Personal story quests, karma quests, dynamic events, exploration and POI discovery, skill point unlocks, weapon skill unlocks, experimenting with different builds, gathering, crafting.  That's all PVE content that kept me busy for hours upon hours, and I only brushed the surface by reaching level 14.

I'd say Guild Wars 2 offers just as much PVE content as PVP content.  As much fun as I had in PVE, I know the PVP is going to be something special.  Can't wait for launch day!

...lest ye seek the depths of darkest madness.

I'm not much of a PvP person myself, but unlike the first game, this one really isn't heavily oriented towards PvP. I hear the PvP is excellent, but I spent my entire time in this weekend's beta event doing PvE. I didn't even touch PvP, because there was just so much to do. I can't even begin to describe all of the awesome things that happened to me over the weekend as I played a human engineer, but I'll try to outline some of the highlights.

1. Personal Story. The story that I played had my character rooting out a group of terrorists who are left over from the ancient White Mantle of Guild Wars: Prophecies fame. In addition, I was able to discover clues throughout my quest to find out who my character's long lost parents actually were. The voice acting and character animations were excellent throughout, even though they were stamped with the "Work in Progress" sticker during the beta.

2.  Dynamic Events. There was a lot of fun to be had here. Events range from helping a farmer exterminate mutant spiders infesting her apple orchard to defending a fortress from a centaur onslaught. In terms of the latter, the awesome thing is that the centaurs can actually win and take over the fortress if the players wipe. Then, with the centaurs holed up in the fortress, players can launch an assault to take it back. It's freakin' awesome.

3. Exploration. The world is massive and incredibly detailed, making every step you take an adventure. Sometimes you might happen upon a random cave in the side of a cliff, and it will lead into a vast network of tunnels where bandits or even giants have made their home. Other times you might wander into a swamp and find that there is an ancient demonic evil at work within, which you can help stop.

There's no end to the sheer awesomeness of the world they built, and this would be the greatest MMO ever, even if they removed PvP entirely. Having now played it myself, I can honestly say it is well worth anyone's time and money.

I'm a PvP guy and I didn't even touch it this weekend.  The PvE was so fun and engaging that I just didn't feel like stopping long enough to PvP.  I kept telling myself "ok I really need to go try out PvP..." and kept getting sidetracked jumping from one dynamic event to the next until the beta shut down.

Never try to teach a pig to sing,it wastes your time and annoys the pig.

I don't like the esport type pvp and I was always on an 'overflow' server so I could never WvW so I ended up spending the weekend doing nothing but PvE and I had the most fun I've had in a fantasy setting in a very long time.  Now I hated the first GW but GW2 is so different from the first one that it really appealed to me.  I can see myself playing this game for a considerable period of time.

Put it this way. I had my female friend play and she don't like PVP. I had her try PVP and she said it was her best PVP experience ever. I think you will get into it.

Yeah, I actually had a lot of fun with the PvE this weekend. The leveling curve feels about right. It was a little slower than normal for me from 1-10, but the leveling curve is flat, so it doesn't take any longer from 9-10 as it does from 79-80.

The Dynamic Events had some pretty interesting stories that were easy to get in to. I found the Norn and Human starting areas superior in that respect to the Charr.

In the end game though, I don't think anything is going to replace the World vs. World PvP. There will be dungeons and probably open world bosses too, and I think in GW1 guilds used to compete by racing to see who could clear the most difficult dungeons fastest.

If you aren't interested at all though in WvW, I'm not sure you'd get the most out of the game. Since there's no sub, you're not really losing anything, but WvW will play a large role at endgame though, and I think that's where most max level people will be.
