I expected more detail from a mmorpg.com article and not a synopsis. You listed no examples. I can only assume a more comprehensive article is coming soon.
You left out the loading screens and instanced zones and no open world feel. HOW THE HELL did you leave out the running in WvWvW is beyond me? Repetitive nature of the dynamic events that started to repeat. |

Of course it has flaws. Like the fact that if you make a female norse you have to sound like a 16 year old boy trying to make his voice sound deep. (kinda of reminds me of Mulan when she is Ping). But doesn't mean that people shouldnt discuss the merrits of real and false complaints. Or would you prefer that all the GW2 fans should go spend all their time trash talking on SWTOR and TERA like several TERA fans I know do on these forums? Community is important it will make the game better having all these devoted fans arguing for it. |

Character models in Gw2 are incredible. Rift had the worst character models ever seen in my life. |

Issues that I had with this beta were; 1] Dodging, while it works well 1on1 it doesnt when theres more mobs, and most things either come in packs or aggro in a raduis, it made surviving ranged mobs stupidly challenging.
2] Chat, assuming 'Local' is ment to be a entire zone to encourage that community feeling, it makes saying things like 'hello, thanks, good work, and you suck' hard in a small area.
3] Reviving Someone, I often saw the symbol pop up when round people, and doing the right thing id rush in to save them by either killing there mob to help them rally, or simply revive. But then something else would aggro onto me, and trying to cancel saving someones life would cost mine cause getting away is to slow.
Prolly a few other small things, but cant think of anymore. Game went really well otherwise, looking forward to the next one. |

Regardless we all are gonna buy the game, what difference is there if we pay for it now or later? Tell me, why not pay for it now for the added bonuses? I suppose you can look at it as we paid to be in the beta sure. But then does that mean we get the game for free at release? You should think before you try and slam someone like us pre-purchase folk. Just sayin :)

It really was'nt that laggy, especially in Beta. I honestly think they did extremely well. My good expectations were met, not many games do that to me.

Hopefully we will be able to play an Asuran character on the next beta, from what i heard they only needed to finish the voicing for that important female Asura, what was her name?

A lot of people are bitching about melee classes and dodging out of melee range and largely unavoidable ranged damage. But it seems to have been over looked in this article. Interesting.

wait what? people seriously didn't like the character models?? I don't know where the cartoony comment comes from, they're certainly closer on the side of idealized realism they'd really rather have "realism" aka the uncanny valley garbage that bioware has been cranking out for years (bioware couldn't animate to save their lives either) |

lag wasn't an issue for me. i was disconnected twice, and there were 2 points which the voice overs didn't work, but overall this was great. i can't wait to try the asura and sylvari. and i had no trouble with the overflows. if the rest of your group wanted to, they could follow you into the overflow.

rift's were decent enough, but they were dangerously close to looking plasticy and a little uncanny valley also doesn't help that rift had no artistic identity of its own, the entire game was a soulless mish mash of popular cliches |

Originally posted by Jolander This was not true. My two biggest annoyances
1 too many sparkle effects 2 annominity in pvp. I get they did this so some poor souls wouldn't get picked on. But I want to be targeted, I want people to go "oh its that git" and single me out. MAKE IT OPTIONAL |

Only valid concern is number 3. The overflow makes it a pain to group. They need to just add an option to join the party leaders instance and problem solved.

Your topic points 5, 4 and 3 were the ones that most stood out for me.
While the graphics aren't horrible, I expected something more. My Charr's body parts would clip through other pieces of armor.
I didn't HATE the character models, but I was disappointed in them. I made a Norn and two Charr, and the while playing the Norn, I felt like I was looking at an older Dark Age of Camelot model. It didn't help that flaws in the coding forced me to turn down my graphic settings in densely populated areas to maintain a decent framerate, so the Norn's textures looked bland.
I expect the framerate issue to be worked out by the time the game releases though, it WAS a beta after all, but I really expected more from the character models.
I DID turn the graphic settings to Ultra for a short while, and it wasn't much of an improvement at all. RIFT's detailing and textures are a fair expectation for something that's supposed to be so "groundbreaking"... or TERA's for that matter, since people seem to want more of an "Eastern" flavor in Guild Wars 2.
I was looking forward to seeing what the actual gameplay version of the Asura and Sylvari were going to look like. Watching a video of gameplay, and actually seeing it on your monitor are two different things. I can only imagine that the starting areas and major cities these two races will populate are going to be breathtaking, but aren't quite ready for viewing.
Overflow issues were a real pain. I would be in the middle of an event with other players, and suddenly receive a warning that my character was being moved, only to find myself teleported to an area I originally logged in. This is one issue that ArenaNet will definitely have to address, but for right now it's to be expected considering this game is most definitely in a REAL "beta" stage, and not just an early access preview or stress test.
I experienced a few crashes to my desktop, one that locked my entire system up and forced me to reboot.
I experienced a few issues with character responsiveness when I was in a "channel" with a higher population, but it was minute and sometimes resolved itself quickly. Sometimes I would "rubberband" across an area, but not frequently. I expect these latency issues to clear up when the game releases. It's to be expected at this stage in the beta cycle, but I hope that ArenaNet obtained enough information about server performance to clear it up sooner.
