The king and the pawn go back to the same box at the end of the day. |

It was a great beta weekend. I do think they still have 3-6 months worth of work though to really polish it off. Maybe I am just being selfish because I want this long without having to choose each day whether to play Diablo 3 or GW2..

There are some cons, to be sure, but the pros seemed to absolutely overwhelm them. Personally, I have never had so much fun in a beta and am so unbelievably disappointed that I might have to wait up to a month to play again...

I did pvp matches all weekendly long. I just tried out templates and every single class. I came away with tons of options and builds. I still have the entire pve experience to explore. If this game was just the pvp part, I would buy it and love it. By far some of the best pvp in recent memory. Everything else is just pure icing on the cake. Day one buy, I miss playing already. |

Beta was awesome, love the game a ton. The game needs a little more polish and we are good to go!

Based off of the 100 vids I watched before even buying the game...it was EXACTLY what I thought it was going to be.
That said, it was awesome. |

People invested a lot of money to "test" this game. Of COURSE it is going to be recieved well... I don't know the name for it, but it is as if someone rented a movie and the movie sucked, but instead of just admitting that they goofed, they HAVE to find something positive to say about that movie.
I see this EVENT as the same way. People PAID just to get in and even though there were problems, we all know about them, certain people will just continue to go along with blinders because they're too stubborn or too proud or too fanboyish to possibly admit, "Maybe I should have waited...". Just from the fact that a majority of posts I have seen that are critical of the game are attacked by all the pro-Guilders kind of proves my point, for me at least.
Anyway, I hope the problems that have been pointed out get fixed because I am itching to try this game out. Now if only I could try this game and weed out a certain portion of the community... Ah... It would be like staring at that sweet, sweet login screen... That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming! |

Originally posted by Betaguy Yea...no Again, Tera is a game...I hope you enjoy your time there, I enjoyed mine. After playing GW2, though, I don't think I can go back to that stop and cast kinda combat. I will play D3 and wait on this. Have fun in Tera |

Originally posted by Betaguy I think there is more positive than negative, but there are plenty of negative as well. That Tera is better in the beta is a no brainer, the game have been out in Korea for 1 1/2 years. GW2 is not the best beta I been in but it actually i pretty close and I been in plenty of betas the last 15 years. I don't think Tera is better than GW2, it is a fine game but not as good. But that is personal opinion. That GW2s beta is way better than the general betas ain't. Sure they had issues with the login server the first few hours but most betas I been into have been delayed for hours instead. |

Originally posted by Betaguy Tera is way too easy... you can solo just about any boss in the whole game if you just learn their "mega man" pattern... hit three times... dodge left... hit three times... dodge left. Yawn. The art style is aweful in tera. Sex appeal purely for the sake of sex appeal. The whole game is like an Axe commercial... full of over the top sexuality in an attempt to sell a lack luster product. Quest hubs... kill x and fetch y... and yes you better do them if you want to level up and move on to the next quest hub. No thanks... "Don't mistake a fun game for a good game... Checkers is fun to play but its not exactly the highest point of gaming design... and definatly not worth $60 plus $15 a month" |

Originally posted by Slampig The problem with this post is, not everyone had the issues. I didn't have any Technical issues at all sans the 4 Disconnect from Server. I experienced no lag whatsoever. That being said, I don't disregard the fact that some people did but please don't assume that everyone had issues in the beta because if you actually take the time ot read some threads you would see that wasn't the case. Also, as a note, they clearly stated before beta even started that 1) the game was not optimized for ATI cards and 2) It was CPU heavy right now...they admitted that up front and said they were in the process of cleaning that up. But, people will still complain because thats what we do as people. So again, it has nothing to do with being blind, stubborn or anything else...Not everyone had those issues. BTW, it is recieved well because it is a very good game. Do yourself a favor and don't listen to anyone on this or any other site, try the game for yourself and make up your own mind. |

You know a game is good when it's biggest issue durring a beta is performance. Which was or should have been expected. There were not any gamebreaking bugs like ability delays, I think the guardian had to many stops in his greats word attacks, oh and other than performance issues the game was not overhyped lmao.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns-IIn-DG-c Try to argue this please. Oh also if you quote me and it's to argue my point, if I don't respond it means I haven't been corrected by you and/or I haven't seen it. Remember I don't mind admitting I am in the wrong. Take care :D |

Originally posted by k-damage Considering you're playing a beta in which almost everyone started at the same time, I'd have to say it would be a mistake to judge the game based on population density, even compared to other betas. That's no guarantee that this game won't end up the top-heavy beast that most MMO's end up being. That said, I do like that their design makes overpopulation in certain areas much less of a problem. I look forward to the game, but if they insist on my preordering in order to try it, they'll have at least one less buyer. |

Compared to all the mmo and probably all the rpg except very few games like Skyrim for example, GW2 is one of the best game of the few last gen, even though i think those few gen aren't really a match to anything, because they were so bad.
WvW was also very nice, imo they need to put a bit more intensive to make people fight outside of the castle range, and promote a bit more the supply, but that can be done with tweak and adding few more siege "engines" to "trap" big or smaller group in the move or trying to get inside a Castle under siege. Combat was a blast to me, a really, very nice mix of mmo skills, fps mechanism, and at last a combat that take full advantage of aoe system that was pretty much always denied in mmos. In any case they are a lot to play with when fighting, and not only in pvp, but also in pve, because they really have some mob that need you to push your toon abilities to the maximum, and i sure hope it will stay like this. Movement and weapon choice are really a big part of the combat, which wasn't the case in any mmo before (except very few mmofps unknown to most), that was about time really. |

Wasn't overflow server made so that you won't spend an hour in a stupid queue? I mean just come on, yes they can make it better, and have people group in them, but then i really don't think it was made to replace a normal server really. Few month after launch i just hope you won't even go in an overflow anymore, maybe i'm wrong? And if you had to saty a bit more in them during the event, well i'm sure they are not aiming for you to stay more than 15 to 30 minutes in them. This is a typical "give a hand, they will take the arm" kind of reaction you have don't you think? |

You guys act like they won't fix the performance issues with the game. Like they're just going to leave them like that for launch. i admit now that it was a bad idea to let preorders beta test because half of you don't get what beta testing is all about. If you don't like the game please don't come back because I don't even want to play with you fools.
And I'm playing TERA, enjoying it for what it is, but the game sucks compared to a certain BETA EVENT. I'm a unique and beautiful snowflake. |
