Everybody cooperates. There is no kill-stealing, ninja looting, grabbing gathering nodes. No queueing/competing for spawns. Everybody helps revive fallen players. This, alone, makes it a great game IMO.

The community is back in mmo's now. I haven't seen such cooperation since the early days of EQ2. Everyone was helpful and went out of their way to revive me when I was dead, which was a lot LOL. |

-I had two people chase me off a cliff in WvW, and for some reason I lived while both of them died. It was one of the many highlights in just WvW.
-1v1ing in 5v5 was amazing in competitive pvp
-Stumbling upon a girl who fell down in some hole. I was near death and 9 people came out of nowhere and saved my ass.
-WvW was so much fun, my realm won 2 of the three fight and was great. My Guild Wars 2 Blog can be found here: Divinity's Reach |

Yeah my favorite thing to do in WvW is pretend to be a combat medic and help fallen players. It gives the sense of a real battle. Although at times while bringing somebody back up, I'd get knocked out too. Then it's my turn to hope somebody gets me up. Getting rid of the competition on petty things like loot off a mob goes a long ways on how players treat each other.

The game fosters cooperation, which is a refreshing change for MMOs. It makes working with others and helping others a convenient and rewarding process. When the community isn't being forced to actively work against itself, it seems a lot of people are more inclined to work together... go figure. :)
filmoret: One thing I have never figured out is why the game devs hardly ever fix simple problems that arise. It is like they don't care about the pvp community. Nitth: What makes you so sure its a simple fix? filmoret: Because most of them are. Sometimes its just changing a number in a code string other times its creating a few variables. However none of them should take over a few hours of coding. |

Originally posted by RebelScum99 That depends. The game takes more concentration than a lot of MMOs, I know I spent the weekend in Skype with friends, maybe others did the same. Besides, there's a ton of communication in WvW, at least on my server. But that's not what you want to hear is it? no GW2 won't kill WoW, but it's time to move on and quit worrying about those people still playing it. - eyelolled |

Sometimes it is the little things that make it great. There is an area in the Human area (I think) that is a lake or pond that has a an adult and some kids standing around by a diving board and there is a sign nearby that says something like "No Swimming, A grumpy fish lives here" and if I am not mistaken I think the adult or kids warn you not to get into the water as well. If you jump in the water there is a mean fish that lives there, it is ugly and it will attack. The reason I keep thinking of this is because of the diving board... I have been meaning to go back to this area to try and see if I could use the diving board to do flips and what not into the water :), I might however be easily amused. As for the other things said about the game in this thread I agree. The first time I saw two or three people hacking away at the same node brought a smile to my face. |

Originally posted by Eir_S That is the thing about this game... it keeps you so busy that there really is no time to just chat it up. Every other game I have played in the past there was plenty of downtime to chat with everyone, heck even when you were actually questing you could find a tree to hide behind so you could spend 15 minutes or so talking to guildmates in chat. In GW2 this is not the case because what might seem like a good tree to hide behind now may be part of an event 2 minutes from now. |

I saw in a video today where a group of players were running acrost the WvWvW area taking turns casting the fast run spell or whatever it is. They managed to keep the entire group moving quickly acrost the map by simply having someone with the spell not on cooldown to cast it... rince and repeat. Who needs mounts with teamwork like that!

To an extent, I agree, but I'm not sure if it is just the people or the crappy chat system that is apparently in place. For example, at the entry door to Divinity's Reach you cannot see conversation that people are typing down near the crafting area. The "general" chat definitely isnt zone wide, and that made the game seem like far fewer people were talking than in other MMO's. There was definitely more WvWvW conversation, but comparing this to other MMO's, yeah, it did seem like there was far less chat going on. More function of the chat system imo. |
