I call bullshit on this whole thing. Digital editions selling out would be like running out o0f "copies" of a web site. It is just impossible...

We are going to run into a serious GW2 shortage. Buy now before it's too late. You can still get CEs! They did the same with swtor |

Originally posted by Souldrainer It kinda does, it's not about number of servers is about having them properly setup and in time. They actually didn't even limiting access. |

Originally posted by Rivalen Nope, it still makes no sense. Ever see a game shut down servers for maintenance? Last I checked, they usually bring them back up on the same exact day. That's how long it takes for these companies to get some new servers up and running, and last I checked, the game doesn't launch in the next day. So no, it's complete bullshit. Error: 37. Lag issues are more then evident, they aren't trying to cover it up. It is all about not investing too much money in new servers, months before the release. New servers cost money + monthly bill for running them. They have more then enough servers to gather the information they need from beta feedback. |

The only reason they have sold out is because of the beta, that's it. This game needs work. Do not buy it until after release or you will be regretting it. And if you wait till after release the price is going to drop, just like interest in this game will until they fix the problems people are having already.

Pays to know something about online games before you talk about them, but live and learn, right?? They put a cap on beta access til they smooth out more server stability and bugs so that they can later let more in once this is done. Thats one of the reasons all online games do a beta in the first place and why they do limited closed betas. You have to work your way up to having 100k or more people on one server at a time and have few issues. Especially when they made the game from scratch and didn't just import it from Korea or somthing. |

Are you people not paying attention? There still ARE copies of the Digital Deluxe available for purchase. Try Gamestop, or any other retailer that does digital downloads, they are selling keys with all the perks you get from the NCsoft store. Only difference is, that it isn't the first thing to pop up when you search "Buy Guild Wars 2" on Google, so while NCsoft is sold out of their allotment of Digital Deluxe keys, Gamestop still has at least some.

Halting sales is a good idea. The servers are overloaded as of now and it is only beta... it will also create a fuss around the game ))) I hope they fix the overloaded issues as now you always get the error as long as you try to log in to the overcrowded server... you can't even switch the char without logging off - and when you do you can't get back... ))) lol Well it's a beta... we can excuse all of this with the light heart ... My first impressions are great... though WvW seems a bit laggy and damn chaotic as always ... no idea who hits who and where the heck are the allies when you need one.. lol... I also wander - why is that we can't resurrect in the captured castles? ...still lots of potential...

The game has a lot of bugs also. If you did ever get to a loading screen for one the instances in GW2 you might well start hering strange noises and sounds that have nothing to do with what appears after you actually zone in.

yeah - an we had this bug when everybody in the human city were unable to exit the city and teleport out ))) lol Guess it was due to the server overload... we started shooting the gate trying to "break" it ... lol ...and then all of us decided to go /sleep so the square was full of snoring ... lol -))) that was fun

Not selling all you can is just dumb.........it means they wont be investing in more server racks, they want to only fill the ones they have, IE: being cheap about it. Every customer they turn away and loose now will simply be paying someone else to play a game......there is no way thats a "Good Idea". rofl at the corporate spy who convinced them not selling all they can was a good idea!.....

Krondin,
You have no idea.. no idea at all. It is not as simple as selling as many boxes as you can and watching half the people never get to play the entire weekend.
They had 48 servers up in total and every single one of them were pushed to the absolute limit in terms of people logging in and playing. |

No he is correct...Yo ustrike while the fire is hot....This game will never be more hyped than it is now......In this industry if you tell people to wait, most of them may jsut go elsewhere (with their money)........
