"I shall take your position into consideration" |
We got some interesting opinions here, I appreciate that the discussion did not turn into a battle of blizz fans vs haters By the way, Blizz mentioned in the past that they are aiming for Next Generation MMO plus I assume that they are not so shortsighted to make a WoW copy. I really think / hope they are cooking something really NEW and refreshing. They also said that they are aware of the fact that some day some game will draw the people from WoW and that they will rather do it themselves with their new game, so I assume it will be a competitor to WoW. I also think it will be a subscription based game. They want the money and B2P model would never make them as much cash as the model they used in WoW (if the game is successful and can retain the playerbase). Also cash shops are generally hated by players (or at least by majority...in my opinion), so that they would not go in the direction of F2P, in my opinion. I admit my expectations may be too high, but still look at what they achieved with WoW and also with their other games like Diablo universe and Starcraft universe. Playing: Nothing atm My game concept thread: http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/369707 (any feedback appreciated) |

i expect a fun and content heavy game full of polish and quality like WOW. it was no fluke that WOW went on to became so successful. Only James Cameron can beat his own movies box office record and only Blizzard can beat its own game in terms of success. |

Just speculating but I doubt it will break any "revolutionary" new ground. I really expect it to be no more then WoW with slightly better graphics/sound in a new setting but nothing much else. Niether of those last two really will interest me enough to even try it. However, Blizzard will market it as the "second coming" and the "savior" of all MMO's....which it won't be. Of course, I am just speculating mind you.

Warning, pure speculation inbound. I figure they will do as they always have, appropriate features and items from current gen industry leaders and perfect them. Housing will be in this time for sure, microtransactions will be in on the ground floor. Lots of easy grouping options (more PQ's, Rifts, DE's, etc.) Possibly a move to consoles and also mobile tie-ins, possibly ad supported. Most of all expect a grind. Many soul crushing, boring grinds. |

I expect it to be game of the year in 2017. I expect it to be received like every other MMORPG is nowadays. I expect them to make a fortune off of item shop, subs and expansions.

Really doubt it will be WoW 2.0. Starcraft themed game seems more likely. Probably will look nothing like what they have right now as it will still change 4 more times.

Highest quality and smooth combat , wow has alot of downsides but for me their still isnt a game like wow that has same smooth feeling to me feel realy attached to character and when you cast spells etc you feel that you are hitting something realy hard to describe . Did have alot of hopes from gw 2 and tho the game is great it still doesnt have the smoothness wow does have and on top of that the performance is realy bad on my i7 / gtx 580 , i do understand its beta but if it is realy that easy to fix they would have done it already since its not good to get bad press from stuff like this.

Blizzard is quoted as saying that it's supposed to be brand new IP, so they won't be playing it safe in that way I imagine. I think that they've collected tons of data over the years on what works and what doesn't with their own experience in MMOs. I have extremely high expectations for this game, however it's so hard to make any judgement on it with practically no information.

It will be a new IP with a distinct art style that will appeal to the most common of common denominators and bore you in record time. Ghostcrawler will be asked to work on it and WoW at the same time to ensure both constantly change direction for worse and give him a broader audience to talk down to.

Since then the Quality of WoW has fallen substantially. It will be the same. Activision will spell the end for Titan before it even launches, Just like EA did to SWTOR. |

Titan will be a Halo based FarmVille clone, only casual, to capture the console and facebook crowd, if Blizzard know anything, it's how to capture the masses.

Every Blizzard game to date has been ridiculously successful due to being ridiculously fun. It's unlikely Titan will change that trend. |

Depends on how involved the Activision execs are in it. If the Activision execs stay out of the project and allow the Blizz talent to do their thing then this might very well be top of the line. If however the Activision execs get greedy and want a quick cash cow then we may very well be presented with a major flop.

No idea, but I don´t think it will be as large as Wow is, that just happens once. Still, can be good or bad, Kaplan is pretty competent and usually knows what he is doing but MMOs are a hard genre and past successes does not neccesarily mean future successes as well, everyone expected EQ2 to be the next huge game in 2004. Lets just wait and see. :) |
