the problem is, you're going under the assumption that the OP has the ability to reason

I've been able to play whenever I want and I have had zero technical issues.

It is a solid game and I am excited for release. I find it hard to go at the game hardcore as I know my progress will be reset.

I have been focussing on learning how things work and where things are.

That's about the same as I've been doing, just messing around got to level 12 and stopped and just walk around checking out skill point locations and stuff. Don't wanna play to much and spoil the release for myself.

The beta is open. ArenaNet has publicly detailed its cashshop. There is vanity stuff there. But basically you can use your credit card to obveiate gameplay (grind) to items and currency.

Sorry beta is closed, open beta is specifically defined as beta opened to anyone.  This beta is only open to specific people selected by anet. Which includes prepurchasers and select others.  

I can't believe people are saying they didn't pre-purchase to play the beta, but to just buy the game, that is absolute b****x!

If they didn't give you beta entry with your purchase, you wouldn't have paid for it, and 99% of other people wouldn't have either.

They have the cashshop (as the y promoised) so the community can rate the items they have in it or don't have in it and provide feedback.

This is beta, so we are testing the game.

You reading minds now?  

I NEEEEDDD you to go through posts and threads before the announcement of this prepurchase beta was announced. Seriously, do that.  Count the hundreds and thousands of times peopel have said they can't wait to pay for this game.  This was before a beta.

There is proof of this, look back at the threads.  

Even in my own personal budget, we set outside our guild wars 2 money at launch, including the money to build a new system.  

So yeah, this game got people that excited that even without the promise of anyting but a game, people were ready to prepurchase it. 

Sure, there are other folk who had beta testing as an incientive for buying, but no one paid for a game just to test it out.  Testing it out is a privedge of prepurchasing and for many, just an added bonus that most game companies don't do.

Yes you can blame them, i have been following the game since it was anounced and didnt prepurchase, im just waiting to get  a release date to preorder a copy. No one is forcing people to buy their stuff, if they buy and then feel cheated, its their fault for buying something they dont know.

Yeah actually I would have, because I was gonna buy it anyway's no matter how you testers/reviewers rated it I could care less I buy every mmo when they release and usually always have enough fun to satisfy the purchase. I'm not gonna base my purchase off of what haters say or what fanboy's say. I do my research I watch the videos I read the features and I don't over hype it I expect it to be the same as every other mmo out there nothing more I don't expect it to be this impossible change that alot of ppl around here seem to want every game to be.

No it doesn't just say pre purchase, it says 'want to play in beta.?' if yes pre purchase today. They were offering guaranteed beta spots for buying the game..remember not pre ordering but paying full price up front.

Maybe you should take your own advice regarding comprehension.

No one paid for beta, you paid for the game.

The beta is supposed to be for testing the servers and testing the game, not as the free trial people like the OP want it to be.

I suggest you stop pre-ordering MMOs if your patience is that low.

I could care less about dumb purchasing decisions made by people..that is not what i am talkign about, but the marketing language used by ANET and how one can not simply dismiss this issue on grounds of 'Anet was offering beta as a perk or bonus'. Sorry but it isn't that black and white.
