Worst beta weekend in memory? not for me, far from it in fact.

I first logged in last night around 6.30ish (UK time), created a character, played for around 2 hours, then got disconnected (along with a few others).

Then there was a slight issue with the login server (no doubt people saw the many posts complaining about not being able to log in).

After a few attempts to login failed, I logged back in, and continued playing the game with no problems, no noticable lag, no more disconnects, lots of fun was had.

I logged off around 1am, went to sleep, woke up this morning and once again logged in with no problems, and was having fun playing yet again until a few minutes ago when I went to grab a coffee, read the forums, and type this.

So, all in all, not a bad Beta Weekend so far, and not a bad game either.

I haven't even have one crash yet, no login problems, 

as for the obvious troll attempt at " 0-options to tune the game pre-login"

Do you see the top left gear icon at the login screen, the one where you type username and password? Thats called a setting menu, where you tune the game.

Obviously some have lucked out on access, unfornately i haven't been one of them, so props to you who've been fortunate, craps to us that aren't as fortunate....

all in all, the game should already be at a point where problems in magnitude such as these should've been fleshed out by now.

In open beta core mechanics are not likely to change. The actual game and graphical style will likely stay as they are. So if you hate the artwork and general feel of the game then sorry but that probaly means you will not like the game come release. The values though they are probably still in flux the amount of damagean attack does the basic matematics can and probably will be rebalanced on many occasions.

So to summarise in beta gamestyle and look will probably not change much they may be sharpened and improved but overall will not change. Connectivity and network issues will be in a constant flux sometimes better sometimes worse as they try different things. Graphical issues may not be their fault check your hardware make sure your drivers are right ake sure you hardware is up to the task and check the tech forums the will probably have a answer for you.

Are you sure you have your firewall and anti-virus setup for GW2?

Because no one is having login issues that i know atm.

All the login problems i experienced yesterday have now been remedied. Amazing what a good night's sleep can do.

But since i pre-purchased the game and in the process was guaranteed a place in beta, the beta better be working flawlessly because i say so! Any problems during the initial beta phase are inexcusable! Even though they haven't had this amount of concurrent players in prior beta events, inexcusable i say! Forget about the beta suffix, problems do not just happen because i say so!

Player entitlement, i loves ya.

Roma Victar or Stargate Worlds, both the worst I ever took part in and I have been in the majority of mmo betas.

shit almost forgot SWG was one of the worst now that I think of it.

Strictly based on my own experiences:

Most buggy beta: Star Wars Galaxies.  We begged on beta forums not to force release.  All our pleadings got deleted and they pushed it out.

Most solid beta: DAOC.  It was rock solid way before release. Not a single lag spike.  Too bad after release they kep stalling promised update/fixes.

Most repetetive boring beta: SWTOR

GW2 beta: Most fun ever pre-release.  Some lag spikes.  Some broken content.  Server went down, new build, right back up.  Only thing promised that hasn't been delivered yet... persistent world changing events.  Your actions effect the world.  Didn't see it.  At all.............................  Yet.  Found some extremely fun classes to play. Eagerly awaiting optimization.

Most adrenaline pumping hand shaking on the mouse never will experience again beta: UO baby!  Chopping trees and forming a bodyguard posse as you venture out to place your house deed... priceless.

Thanks for pointing that out, honestly i didn't see that... dang, well i blame the login screen, it isn't obvious enough :D

I'm having tons of fun at the moment :P Definatley not the worst beta ever. But I wish my pvp team knew how to play lol

Only suffered minor lag last night, this morning has been really smooth, have yet to try WvWvW

Now to try out a different class and race me thinks!

One more thing... stop being a bunch of drama queens as this is not the final product. Now just relax and play or go away!

The data gatherd from this weekend is analyzed and processed to make the game better and better.
