Well first of all i was never a fan of GW, tbh i never really liked it back than nor i even followed it, i had been following RIFT over this game, i even started a thread (1 year ago) called "rift > gw2" (which created a quite good flaming lol) because i thought Rift would be better and thing is Rift beta sucked, i never ended up buying the game due to its bad animations and guess what, im BLOWNED away by how just amazing this game is... I dont understand how people say the animations suck, they are quite fine actually, the storyline is something i have never seen in a mmo, very interesting. The events are "refreshing" to mmo's compared with the old boring quest hubs. I played human thief btw and i must say that inside the city keep just looks beeeeutifuuuul, seriously 5*. PVE was never my thing in mmorpgs and i must say the dev team just nailed it! I definitely need to try the pvp now. Yes the low fps worries me, i know the game is being optimized but idk still worries me, i'm afraid it might not get that much better, had like 30fps average sometimes as low as 10+ when crowded and almost 50+ when no1 around on my core i7 920 @ 3.6ghz (hd5850), and i cant agree to those who say the graphics are bad, i think they are fine. To conclude, this might just be the best mmo i'v ever played!

I have to agree. Yes I'm a huge fan of the game but I'm going to play Tera also. I have played everything from UO all the way through the gauntlet. I am only level 5 and have done a bit of everything and the game is what I had expected of it. It is new, refreshing, and exciting. Divinity's Reach is a miracle in itself to explore. I have done PvE and 4 PvP battles and I did very well for an old man! As the OP stated, the lag is a big part of the problem but that can be expected with a beta/stress test. The lag sometimes is irritating but none worse than Aion or Rift (atleast where and when I was playing). The music is awesome and I will be playing this for a long time I hope. I have no regrets and my $60 will get many, many hours of use. Oh one more thing, the cash shop currently has nothing worth nothing in it. I was thinking of getting a pirates outfit just to look like Captain Jack Sparrow! Cya in game friends! Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not. |

eather way, someone recently said to me.in terms of the dodging thing and the combat system of gw2.its like age of conan, which ive played age of conan.and i dont know, with what they had goin on with that game,it wasnt really that serious business and that hard to figure out

Hated GW1 myself but I am in awe with GW2, its truely next gen and the leveling aspect alone is worth the price of the box, add on WvW and Epic level world Bosses and its a shure hit imo.

Originally posted by CrunkJuice2 You mean the sci-fi MMO? That went into development at the same time? That doesn't give you any choices when you first create your character, to change the effect? To differentiate you from anyone else you picked your class? That game? lol? I'll give you the dodging mechanic feels very AoC, but that's not a bad thing. The rest of the combat however, isn't. Well, it might be for meleers, I never played AoC melee so I don't know how they are. But spellcasters in AoC didn't have the luxury of being on the run while casting. I hate when games doing that, separating the playstyle of melee and caster as if casters can't walk and point their fingers at the same time ;x No, I'll take GW2's combat anyway (although I do still like AoC's playstyle). I'm impressed with the game so far too. I got to play for a short time in PAX but 20 minutes isn't the same as this. I didn't get to explore and get really deep into the mechanics of the game, and I'm loving it. I'm only pissed they took the servers down for half hour maintenance >< I was in the middle of fighting that raid shadow creature in the swamp. I suppose if it helps with the FPS issues (so far my only complaint but lol, beta) I'll get over it. It'll all be wiped before headstart anyway.
