This beta event is partially a stress test. we will all get to play guild wars soon enough, no reason to throw a tempertantrum about how the world is doomed because you could not play for the first 3 hours.

I agree. I think most if the people here complaining about the game. And giving bad reviews after an hour or two, want the game to fail or something. They already made up their mind, before they played. That's my thoughts at least

I'd be inclined to agree that a lot of these people went into this inital Beta TEST / Stress TEST with the agenda of nay-saying the game... Except thats an expensive endeavour to buy a game just to trash it. No, I think its just the way our society is now. Spoiled and rotten. |

Most of them are haters or WoW fan boys or girls, or TROLLS. Most likely trolls though. Too many posts that just talking crappy about GW2. I've played today for 3 hours and loved it. Yes, it has some GPU and CPU customozation that needs to be done and it will be done in the near future. But other than that the game is amazing.

I'm kind of flabberghasted. When I see "beta test" I think "Shit that probably won't work, or won't work right." When other people see "beta test," do they see "finished game?"

I'm all about the bugs, it's actually fun seeing what will be working 100% in a few months. The only thing I had a problem with, and maybe someone can help me out, (besides the lag which will be fixed eventually), it's frustrating that I started on one server but now can't play with my friends because they're on different servers. I try to transfer (cost: 0 gems atm), and I get an error and sent back to the main menu. Now I don't have a huge problem with it, since it's a 3 day beta and we'll all be all over the place anyway, but I wonder if anyone else has raised the same issue? no GW2 won't kill WoW, but it's time to move on and quit worrying about those people still playing it. - eyelolled |

Originally posted by bansan I would agree with yout if this were years ago when beta testers were actually expected to "test" the games they played. Now that most developers give access to beta with pre-orders, these public betas are little more than a marketing scheme that gives Anet the ability to stress test their servers. When your game is in this rough a state, it's too early to be holding open betas for pre-orders. |

Originally posted by CujoSWAoA I think you are wrong on this. Problem is that a lot of people cant get in or the game is unplayable. When you advertise to buy me and play the beta. I expect it to be 80-90% ready. What percentage do you expect? 20 - 40%? I still have error codes and have yet to play. Support is not at its best. |

Noooooooo! lets see if we can kill the mod team here by creating a gagillion "GW2 is WAR" review hate threads, I know they're on the bat phone to MatB as we speak! Tbf (coming from a non-fan here) I around afriends house and he's spent 5hrs on and off trying to log on and only got in once and dc'd 30 seconds later (btw I lmfao at that, I thought he was going to cry) so how is anyone getting the chance to 'review' anything other than the log in screen. I remember the thread a day or so ago about how it was the best log in screen ever, now we know why :) - sorry couldn't help it. ----- |

I have seen about 8 or 9 threads where the op didn't like the game. Is it really that hard to believe that even 20 people on this site wouldn't like the game?

My "relax" opinion on each hot topic for me this evening (EU^^): Login and Performance Issues: From the data that I collected throughout the week, I came to the conclusion that they did not expect/estimated to have so many Pre-Purchases -> Beta Keys. Why?
Combat: At first Tera is something absolutely different again, here you do not have a bar from WoW to Tera with GW2 somewhere in between. The combat is actually more like: Easy to pick up hard to master from what I have seen. Most people seem to underestimate it. Also they forget that in PVP almost all of your enemies play the game for their first time as well, so they should not expect professional PVP environment.
Visuals: I like it, it is opinion. People should realize that it is neither generic comic looking nor hyper realistic approach but painterly illustrated aesthetics just as Mr Dociu explained it.
Overall I suspect that there are quite a few that want to prove that they were right with their statements about "overhyped" in a very ruthless and limited way. So they do not play this beta because they want to find out if the game is fun but only to prove that it is not. "Der Weg ist das Ziel." - "The way is the goal." |

Originally posted by Tullyxox See, this is a perfect example. I'm hugely anticipating Guild Wars 2. Very much eager to play it, probably just as much as you are. I, did, not, pre-order it. Nor am I participating in these BETA TEST. Why? Because its not going to be a flawless experience. Its, a, test. And I don't feel like testing the game. I will wait for a finished product. |

Originally posted by CujoSWAoA See, this is a perfect example. Yes this was exactly what I told my classmates when they asked me if I already pre-whatevered the game. I want the experience they ship when its ready and until then we will see... "Der Weg ist das Ziel." - "The way is the goal." |

Originally posted by dais So lets say I never get to play the beta this weekend. Now this is due to an error code from game. Should I walk away and be like thats cool its beta? I pre- ordered to play beta. I cant right now. I feel a little cheated. Will I play the game, yes. Helps that there are no refunds lol. I hope its a big sucess. I feel this is a bad first day. If things were going great I wouldnt be here. |

Come on people. Are you new to the internet? Just look at ANY launch of ANY major MMO game in last 2 years. It's the same ALL the time:
Hyped > Over-hyped > Open Beta / Launch > Huge letdown for everybody > Vocal minority rushed through content in about a month > Game's dead > Where's next WoW killer?
Pathetic.
Just enjoy what you like and support it by playing it and STICK with it. MMOs need time to get any good. Loyalty is the way to get this genre some decent games. You can't just jump from game to game every few months expecting miracles. No company can launch with 5 years of community approved and tested content on top of the usual chunk. It's not gonna come.
this stupid mentality ruins every new MMO. people are just so demanding with expectations out of this world.
Sad, sad, sad thing.
