So bewarned, all sales final with this company and there aint a single email or phone number to even attempt one. Anyhow, so they really piss me off, by announcing this beta weekend.. I got the email back on Tuesday... But yet still can not download the client late on Thursday night.. It going to take me 4 days to download this  and of course the weekend is over.. Boo Hoo, well thats why i pre-ordered the friggan thing... Too see if I should invest my family lan in this or secret world, or arma 3, etc etc. But wont get that chance now.. Looks like its Secret World as they just invited me without any concern today... Thanks, thats appreciated.. Goodbye GW2.

To top it off, you just cant even contact this company and voice your displeasure.. its like they know and dont care and just lolligag their way to release..

WAKE THE HELL UP GW2.. Seriously, I will use my consumer rights and get a refund if I want one.. Not afraid of that.. But quit becoming the industry norm and crapping  on your future... Open your doors, or they will be closed in my household. And since I have a 6 machine lan.. thats 5 more copies here that wont be bought... -$300 before you even launched... Hope others join my fight against this ridiculous treatment of its customers.

And here is another middle finger for the guy who programmed the unreadable capcha below.. hope you didnt spend more than $3 on that implementation, that captcha is older than the internet itself. I know, because I wrote the original code.. it :D

I can tell you right you don't know the history of the companies you are dealing with. First off ANET has a great track record. Funcom does not and is now with EA which makes it worse. SInce you brought up TSW ill tell you that the game is scheduled to release in June but its no where near close.. but they will release it anyways, partially done just like they did with Age of Conan.

Since you are unreasonable and a confused individual.. I guess this is my "middle finger message"?

Man, it just sounds like your to temperamental. go in, pre purchase or buy a whole lot of products and threaten to pull the pin when things don't go as you would like.

Fully evaluate the products and their incentives before you commit. Or just buy it on the day.

Seriously..

i bought the game yesterday and i immediatly got my download email (i had to reread the email to figure out that it would have send me to the link but it is there)

and i downloaded it in 1.5 hours or something.. jeej 1.8mb/s

The Tera download was horible indeed but i asure you your GW2 download will be smooth.

reread your email. youl be send to the forums. and your download link will be there with the explanation of how to.

I agree and for sure they will have to come up with a better system then GW1. It worked for GW1, barely! But we were used to it so it didn't seem so much a big deal  that you might wait half an hour or days for something to be resolved. A bit like playing the lottery honestly :D  For GW2 they will have to do better because many of these players are used to better service.

Most companies dont have a good CS in beta. They dont have a full crew and optimized system until closer to release. We yet to know that date for sure. I will say they helped me within about 18 hours of submitting, but when I contacted NCSoft about another issue a few months back with GW1, took them 48 hours. This is ArenaNets learning period cince there CS is new and will be separated from NCsoft's CS.

Yes I've argued the same thing myself in another thread, but at the same time I also realize this will cause posts like this whether called for or not. People expect service, and expect it to be expedient.

As others have said, it’s Pre-purchase for beta access.  The download is available – the link was even being passed around here.  It took me about an hour to download, granted I have pretty decent internet.  Still, unless your internet is HORRIBLE, it shouldn’t take you that long.  And if you have such horrible internet, honestly I’m sorry but consider upgrading or something if you want to be an avid online gamer.

Also, this won’t be the only beta weekend event.  There will be others, should you miss this one.  Patience.

Honestly, I think you’re being way over-sensitive and just a little out there with your ‘fight against this ridiculous treatment’.

Not trying to be mean to you mate, I just think you’re all worked up and causing yourself some grief.  Except the capcha thing… no one likes capcha lol.

He hasn't played the game.  That's the point.  He simply wanted to cancel his pre-purchase, which he should have the right to do.  So that in of itself is a bit shady on ArenaNet's part, particularly for a game they don't even have a release date for yet.  To give someone a chance to pre-purchase the game, and play in beta, but NOT allow them a refund if they don't like what they see seems wrong for a B2P game.  

Now, that being said, I'd agree that he is definitely being overly temperamental about things and is probably costing he and his family some enjoyment by cancelling every pre-order/pre-purchase of a solid game that doesn't provide a quick enough download for him.  Seems a bit silly, particularly when most people are saying they were able to download GW2 within three hours, and I was able to download TERA in about 3-4 hours AFTER I disable the P2P sharing (which was a fix for the slow download process).  So it definitely sounds like issues from his end.  

But he does make a few valid points, even if you guys are quick to dismiss them because you don't want to believe that customer service isn't one of ArenaNet's strong suits.

There have been a few people with this problem. I know in Europe some ISP's limit certain types of downloads no idea if ISP's do this in the states which is where the OP is from.
