While the Diablo style games aren't my style, they can be fun for a while. I played the Original Torchlight and had a good time. I got enough hours out of it to look forward to torchlight 2 |

Originally posted by slicknslim88 That's hilarious. The Torchlight games are just tech demos to make money while they build their MMO. I'm sure there will eventually be so good mods but that's about it. I may try it when I get sick of D3.
TL2 could of made a dent if it released last November. At this point they're not going to be much competition for D3 unless D3 is terrible. |

I'm afraid that you can only pre-order it off $team, is this true? Google says so. This really sucks if true. I figured that you could actually buy it directly from the devs but so far you cannot. Still on the fence about D3 but if T2 is a $team-only game then that will make my decision much easier (I can only stomach one Hack&Slash at a time). I cannot explain why i will never buy from $team again because I will get banned from here and I'm trying to be a good boy! |

Originally posted by Rednecksith I'm the same way, i'll but it when i have the funds to do so. The original release date was may 2011, then end of 2011, then Q1 2012 now its vague again with end of 2012 summer. One of the things that has turned me off about it, they kinda shot out release dates to get people interested and it never came. |

I'm confused ... TL2 is only $20 and D3 is $60+? I thought they were games that would be directly competing with each other? If you don't worry about it, it's not a problem. |

Originally posted by HurricanePip IF TL2 is like the first it'll have the strong points of character development, offline play and modding. With the addition of multiplayer it'll be a solid game though there is a catch. I don't really want to go into it because some people like it, however it'll be just like NWN multiplayer games were. Diablo 3 will have no offline play or modding, the character development is arguable. However it will have most likely a far better story, better ambiance and battle.net. The biggest reason for the price difference and this is just me assuming is battle.net. It is without a doubt one of the best online gaming platforms available. With a persistant 'world' and rule set, it will have a reason to keep you. Both games will be polished and offer special to whomever likes it. I'll be honest if Diablo 3 didn't have battle.net it wouldn't work and i wouldn't play it. Diablo 3 wasn't built on the idea of not having a multiplayer function. If you want a singleplayer game with the occassional player interaction go for TL2, if you want the persistant multiplayer experience then go diablo 3. |

Oh but dear, from everything that seen D3 IS terrible and diablo-in-the-name-only. :)
I'd rather play a competent TL2 than rmt-driven online-only single-player world of warcraft :) # A GRIM, ODD, ARCANE SKY |

Anyway, Im skeptical. The last release window they gave was september last year. Nothing since then and now its "Summer"? I hope its soon, but Im holding on to my money 'till its set in stone. I wanted to type something really smart as a reply to this subject, but the Scarlet Blade ad got me distracted and I forgot what I wanted to type. |

If they would launch now , i would buy it instead of Diablo 3. Or if they at least let us into beta if we prepurchase .... But they wont. .... So why prepurchase ? You will basically have same price, the moment game launches - but also from their own site without Steam forced on you |

I did play TL1 and rly enjoy it. I will probably get TL2.
Anyone has any info about multiplayer ? Will it be open/close like old B.net ? I think game have potential but I am concerned about editing save to add atribiutes and/or items cuz it will pretty much destroy game in for everyone. Are they going to support some multiplayer servers ? or it will be LAN only ? I have my fears so they don't have me. |

Not too sure about the multiplayer options for connectivity. However, it is on Steam so one could assume you could at the very least play it through Steam with your friends. |
