We recently traveled to the KingsIsle Studios for a sneak peek at what the team has been working on to build on the wild success of Wizard101. We've got an exclusive hands on preview of the way that Pirate101 plays. You won't want to miss it.

The fact that the game takes itself so seriously is amazing fun. The idea of a monkey-run Spanish Inquisition with bananas is fantastic. The Monquistadors made all of us laugh out loud with their craziness. This zany style of humor is like watching a comedy show. You really want to see more. Not to mention the Frogfather on his giant floating whale. He will make you an offer you cannot refuse. It is things like this that set KingsIsle apart from many MMO studios. While some of the references in Wizard 101 were hysterical, Pirate 101 really pushes the limit of humor. Entering the world there is no secret that it is filled with skullduggery and double dealings. A pirate’s life is never one of perfect situations. Even when you get your first ship the other pirates mock how small it is and make you laugh with their comments.

Skies of Arcadia is one of my all-time favorites, so I'm definitely checking this one out.

Having played Wizards101, I can't wait for this. :D

Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me.

I might even try it since I did get some enjoyment out of Wizard 101.

But I was kind of hoping they would do a somewhat different version of a collectable card game type MMO.  The CCG format provides a perfect opportunity to get off the rails of level based advancement.  Instead of gaining levels the PVE focus could simply be traveling around battling monsters to aquire their cards to add to your deck.  Have enough cards to collect and have some way to lose cards (maybe in PVP) and you would basically ensure that people never run out of PVE stuff to do.

Wow, I went off topic quick.  Anyway, yeah, I might try it out.

No doubt it's going to be a very entertaining high quality product. The only thing that's going to be interesting to see, is how much their cashshop with subcription model is going to screw all that up

looking forward to playing this one with my 10 daughter shes loves Wiz 101.

While W101 allowed players to only be humans I'm really hoping this game breaks that mold. There are so many entertaining options for races in this universe and yet none of them are available.

sounds like alot of fun but i think wizard will always over shine it . lol but im still going to try it
