When Guild Wars 2 launch i will take my time i won't follow the masses and rush through the game.Slowly explore the game and enjoy hopefully every minute of my gametime. Im not intrested in when i wil reach lvl 80 if it takes a year i dont care. Fun, relaxing while exploring or some pvp and fully immerse myslef into game thats what i will do.

It won't take that long. GW2 has a shallow leveling curve after 20, but I agree with your philosophy. A game that you're enjoying should be relished, not rushed through. I remember really enjoying Azeroth and taking my time. This was back in Vanilla when it took about two or three months to reach level 60. There's nothing like exploring and finding hidden secrets. ArenaNet is packing Tyria full of these things: including large, open-world dungeons (non-instanced) that you can bring large groups of players to. It's going to be a blast. 100% with you on this one, I don't care how long it takes to get to end level as long as I'm having fun and fun to me will include uncovering and exploring the world and its content as much as I can. |

Yeah, I won't be rushing too, although I will still have to try to keep up with my guild. |

I agree completely, I will take my time and se what they have to offer me. GW1 was, at times, very railed so I thinj this will be great for the genre. |

Originally posted by GroovyFlower It won't, the game isn't designed to let you take your time, it will push you right along and you'll be 80 before you know it. Thing is, from what I understand the way its designed, this won't result in any change in your playstyle so in theory you won't even notice. In theory.

While i simply love WvW i really want to explore all 5 of the racial areas, so i will more than likely be Alting like crazy, maybe after i hit 80 on 1 or 2 alts i will focus on WvW, but yeah i intend to immerse myself in the game, take my time. Lolipops ! |

I say that every time, I always start off thinking I'll take my time. Sit back at times and just chat with my guild. Sit back and study my low level abilities to have them down perfect before I get new ones. See what an mmo has to offer......But as it turns out, I have yet to put this into real practice....I will try again in GW2 :) |

I plan on rushing through the game on my character, mainly because I would like to get the geared and go wvwvw and be able to compete well, I will proably make an alt enjoying the game a lot more, but wvwvw is the main reason why I bought the game and I want to be able to play it with full gear as soon as possible.

If a game is well designed, as it appears GW2 is, then you shouldnt feel the need to rush to max level, because every corner you turn there is something interesting to do. Sure its possible to JUST play the story quests and get to max in no time, but that is not what I would call playing the game. Doing this you would miss out on SOOO much of what makes the game great. One of the main reasons I'll be running a casual RP guild... I want to take my time and just enjoy this game, get as into it as possible through some quality RP. |

I don't actually care about the pacing of leveling because it's irrelevant in this game. I won't outlevel content. Everything that I was playing through will still be challenging and fun at level 80.

Originally posted by Kyleran As you level my guess is that the gameplay will allow you to refine your playstyle by the way you allocate your trait points. I would also assume that you will be earning skill points along the way and unlocking skills slot abilities as well as different elites. So I imagine that your playstyle will become more refined and you will use different skills based on context and how you choose to play. What you will never do is overpower the content, which to me is a good thing. "Loading screens" are not "instances". |

Originally posted by Serelisk Aww, you beat me to it... though it should be a pretty common concept to most people interested in GW2 by now. Even if I did rush, there are always going to be things I want to see because the zone will fit my level instead of going back at level 80 and one shotting everything. That offers no sense of excitement whatsoever. I'm just glad a game is finally breaking up the MMO montony of grinding at "end level" for things that make you slightly stronger so you can grind for more items that make you slightly stronger. It's just a scam to get subscription money. Games should be about fun. no GW2 won't kill WoW, but it's time to move on and quit worrying about those people still playing it. - eyelolled |
