Before I start playing I would like to learn more about the world behind the game, I have already read the two books Edge of Destiny and Ghosts of Ascalon. But is there anywhere more information? Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. |

Subscribe to youtube user Wooden Potatoes. He releases a lot of lore related videos and I think he's even doing a lore summary of GW1. |

I would suggest playing GW1 if you haven't already if you want to learn more about the world. Playing GW1 would give you a perspective of the landscapes, and history behind the events in GW2. More specifically the original game Prophecies is based in Tyria like GW2, and the EOTN expansion most closely bridges the gap between the events of GW1 and GW2. I'm definitely eager to see how the game world changed 250 years after the events in GW1. If you can't be bothered to play GW1 then you can find more lore info in wikis: http://www.guildwiki.org/Main_Page |

Thanks for the links, The last thing I'll be doing is going over the lore. I am usually not a big lore person but I'll make an exception in this case. |

Also if you like to read there are 2 novels; Edge of Destiny and Ghosts of Ascalon. They feature characters youll meet in GW2.

Here are some sources to get you started: Note that the third one, Sea of Sorrows, is not released yet. Of course you can also buy and play GW1 but I understand that for money, time and for gameplay reasons people might not want that. |
