For a free to play game I was wondering how it is? Is it like Lord of the rings? Is good for a free to play game? The griending levels would not bother me, all I have is time so that would not matter. But the game play, end game, questing and things like I am wondering about. |

aion is just not about grind, ppl left this game b/c u grind ur butt off and end up with bad roll of dice and lose everything u grind and still same thing with F2P. They never learn why ppl left their game huh? Yes I am botting this game till GW2 comes out. |

First attempt in AION i leveled to 36 and quit. My class has huge issues that broke enjoyment and the grind was just horrid.
Second attempt was before F2P -> The world was empty, I couldn't complete any group quests as no players were around to group with. I think i made it to 20 before getting bored
Thirst and final attempt was on F2P release (11th) and I powered to 47 pretty quickly. I quickly realized that the game has very little to offer in the end. You can grind for small gear upgrades. And PvP. No other advancement, achievements, or anything is available. PvP "ranking" is only cosmetic as PvP gear purchase actually drains you of rank. Also, I participated in a few PvP matches and I found them boring.
As always, there is a reason why a game is a huge hit or a failure and eventual F2P title. WoW was very good, millions of people enjoy playing it. Every F2P game out now was a failure in my book. They couldn't provide a game enough people were willing to pay for so they had to make it free. No developer WANTS a free to play game. 14.99 subscription from every player is a lot more money than F2P could ever bring. More money = more development = more content. I've given a lot of F2P games a go recently and they all fall short. AION is no different unfortunately =(
Not to mention, i'm kinda tired of wasting my life infront of the computer for endless hours playing games that aren't really that much fun. I should enjoy every minute of the game... not suffer the grind because I have hopes of it getting better eventually. |

In terms of the F2P model, its better than LOTRO. Whether you like the game or not is subjective. Its a bit grindy, much less than before, and has the standard gear treadmill at endgame. If thats what you want then give it a shot. |

its the best f2p game and even better than 99% - hmmm which one is better?- sry i meant 100% of the p2p games. there are not many mmos which can compare with aion when it comes to content. few months ago i had an aion break and played wow again. sry to all wow fanboys here on the forums but wow is just crap compared to aion. and cmopared to the rest of f2p games...well if u are still playin games like allods or lotro then its your own fault.. got here alot of inis, alot of quests etc..and if u are lookin for pvp, rifting etc then i would recommend u to play on the new servers since there are no rift buffs. |
