It is a double edge sword. First, to the guy who had his sister layed off from Tims, might need to consult a lawyer, since that is a violation of Canadian TFW program on the surface (without having additional information).
Part of the reason we enjoy cheaper consumer goods is because there is outsourcing and cheap overseas labour. Do you shop at Walmart? Walmart is one of the largest importers of Chinese goods in the world. That is the reason you're able to buy that 10$ toaster and the american company that makes them went out of business 10 years ago. A business like Walmart has so much purchasing power it can set their pricepoint to suppliers (generally that has worked in reverse, following the standard rules of competition). However, when Walmart dictates to suppliers how much it will pay, the suppliers change their habits (outsourcing) to meet demands. And you don't say no to Walmart. Just look at what happened to rubbermaid, which was then acquired by Walmart. Now that was completely off topic. While I do think EA is a terrible company, outsourcing isn't exactly totally evil on their behalf. Part of the way capitalism works and how we can afford the materialistic lifestyle we do is off the backs of the poor around the world. Someone is always exploited for the benefit of others. Now that isn't |

The sad part about this is that the people who end up losing their jobs probably won't be the same people higher up who made the moronic design decisions that are responsible for the poor performance. |

EA sounds like I did as a teenager when I got busted with beer and playboys in my room. |

So as usual, much ado about nothing. NGE killed SWG. Get over it like the rest of us did in 2005. |

Originally posted by itgrowls Actually the whole industry took a beating Q1 2012, not just EA so its not difficult not to blame this on TOR since all the other publishers don't have anything to do with it yet they lost money to. Still "haters gonna hate" right? |

Originally posted by Tayah yup, its sad that people had to lose their jobs due to the icompetence of the EA/Bioware SWTOR leadership. I hope that those that lost their jobs were directly responsible for SWTOR failures and those who were just following orders were spared. |

Originally posted by Paragus1 Yep exactly, which is why I don't think people who dislike EA should chalk this up as a victory, those responsible will still be coming to work, and making as much as 10 of those fired. Originally posted by doho7744 TOR isn't the only reason but it's a $200+million part of the reason. Do a little research on why EA won 'worst company in America" and get back with us. That's worst company, all catagories, all companies, nation wide. It didn't get that vote from IGN, MMORPG, or any gaming related anything. That vote came from Consumer Reports so it goes a bit deeper than a down trend in this industry. |

It looks to me like EA is toast. Their stock is plummeting on heavy volume. I think EA may well be heading fro bankruptcy at some point. |
