Originally posted by EduardoASG the response wasn't simplya response to NCSoft but Massively as well. Massively is really digusting in their treatment of Tera, they had constantly reported info and events by K-Tera that are completely unrelated to W-Tera, and had twisted their story or left out key information to make W-Tera look bad. Now they went as far as to outright lie that K-Tera was found guilty, when they were not, and EME/Blue Hole had to respond. But that's not the kicker, the kicker is user responses like these where people are still defending Massively and NCSoft's baseless assault on Tera even after they had been proven wrong. It's really digusting all the comments I read, that "I trust NCSoft"or that "Massively says that Tera dev are guilty so EME must be lying." It's amazing how completey ignorant people are when EME comes out and dispells the rumors with the truth, but people still do not believe them. As a gamer people should be demanding the jobs of these journalists like Massively that spin the facts to their own benefit and not in the interest in their playerbase. How many games have we brought last year that was constantly hyped by sites like Massively and turned out to be trash? And now Massively got players literally convinced that people shouldn't play Tera, a game a lot of people will actually like, because they stole assets from NCSoft and they are found guilty and NCSoft will shutdown their game.
We are literally living in a world now where other people are telling us what games we should and should not play. |

Please tell me if I am wrong. Let me get this right. An ex workers that quit Ncsoft steal all the company projects. They then set up a new company on their own and used all Ncsoft projects and make another MMO out of this. They get send to jail in Korea for stealing and people are defending the stolen MMO as if it was Ncsoft fault? I do not understand why people are hating the victim and praise the thief? Is there another story that I do not know that you guys are defending this MMO? Pardon my English as it is not my 1st language :) |

The Title is misleading. NCsoft didn't do anything to spread the rumors. It was the press. Furthermore the court case was against the former employees not against the company(BHS) in which they were found guilty. |

Good job I guess, a couple of PR firms are looking forward to hire you as well. The next time you are being stereotyped for anything, remember not to have any negative thoughts and tell yourself you deserve it. |

xmenty is right.
1. Ex-NCsoft employees runs off with Lineage III details, went to Bluehole, started TERA.
2. NCsoft sued Bluehole, court finds Bluehole and the ex-NCsoft employees guilty.
3. Another trial sees Bluehole declared innocent, TERA continues operation in Korea, no fines to be paid, the ex-NCsoft employees guilty.
4. Ex-NCsoft employees sent to jail and fined.
5. NCsoft launches legal trial against En Masse in North America, no news of a court session yet.
6. TERA is still to launch and operate as usual in North America.
That's that. Why can't the TERA fanboys read? |

Originally posted by Rednecksith c'mon, it doesn't take a genious to know that IP blocks will only stop legit players and wannabes. You think hackers and professional farmers can't get around an IP block? I honestly think there's another reason that the blocking was put in place and the real reason doesn't seem as legit as this one /removes tinfoil hat |

So bluehole was found not guilty of using nscoft code. But ncsoft ex empoyees were found guilty of stealing ncsoft code. The code they made for ncsoft? The three people involved were fined and sentenced to jail time. End of story? I mean if the court found bluehole not guilty of using the stolen code then that's it end of this for Tera in korea at least. I wonder how the us case will go. Kinda doesn't look good for ncsoft vs eme if bluehole was cleared. Right? So Tera is something like what Lineage 3 might have been but they didn't use ncsoft code to make it? Am I right? And cinderboy don't bother responding you seem to have a stick up your ethernet port about eme's IP blocking. Or that's what I got from your mmosite post thing. |

Originally posted by cinderboy You forgot to mention the thing that matters. See the text that I painted in red? That my friend has not been proven anywhere. En masse said that TERA has not been found guilty, that BHS has not been found guilty. They did not say that some Ex-Ncsoft employees weren't found guilty. So xmenty is not right, as he said that TERA is a stolen MMO while it has not been proven. That is what BigBadWolfe was talking about, not the Ex-NCSoft employees. |

Cause your commenting on it? I guess. Seems to me the whole Tera legal deal is over and Tera is stamped OK in the Korean courts. But your posts indicate you don't like that. I get the impression you'd like to see tera or EME go down in the US. All cause of the IP blocking and not about all this legal stuff. Mind you, if you were just some forum poster I wouldn't have bothered saying anything to you, but you got that thing on that other mmo website. I imagine SOME of the other hate tera gets over the lawsuits is really not about stolen code and justice, but more from personal vendettas. The three guys whole stole thier own work from ncsoft(but they were on ncsoft's payroll while they made it so it was ncsoft's) have to pay ncsoft money and do some time. Seems like there were some personal issues between them and thier bosses? Tera is not made from stolen ncsoft code. This is what I understand to have happened. |

I never denied I was pissed with TERA using a lousy excuse to implement the IP block, I was always open about that.
Freedom of speech, anyone? It is my personal blog, the last I know I don't have to please everyone with my views.
And I did not say TERA was closing, I did not say Bluehole was found guilty (well they were found guilty in the first trial), I certainly did not say En Masse is guilty.
All you fanboys just let fanboyism consume your ability to read properly, geez.
And about the part if TERA was made using Lineage III codes, again everyone is free to have their own opinions, though legally it states it is not. |

@Cinderboy
I do not blame you for posting the same type of info as MMO news entities, everyone was given same bad info and it gets spread by one entity reporting from another like dominos. Did the other sites like MMORPG.com or Massively add an unrelated rant to their correction of the event? Nope. It's your blog that's true and I'm sure you work hard on it. I bet your even a good guy that likes MMOs like the rest of us. If you want to be taken seriously like these other sites then you need to use the same journalistic integrity. What you injected, literally, into your correction of the verdict results was obvious to anyone with reading comprehension. In the end it's up to you how you want your site to look. Just not worth my time anymore. |
