Although this idea has kciked around my head multiple times, I always come back to leaning against it mostly because I think Bethesda would dissolve itself.
Bethesda has been doing Elder Scrolls they way they wanted to do it for a very long time. Way before the FPS + RPG genre broke any real ground. Arena came out in 1994 right around the same time as System Shock and well before Deus Ex. They pioneered RPG/FPS stuff.
They have been in Bethesda, Maryland from the beginning and still work out of that area. The DC area is a good area for software development but its not like Silicon Valley where many american games come out of. They started out making it on their own and have slowly grown their games into major money makers from that. They have stayed in the same area despite the developer base of that area being mostly government contracting and some other IT related stuff or corporate HQ type stuff rather than game developers.
If they got bought out I bet you they would just do what Bungie did but leave immediately.
EA might be stupid enough to force things. But the lore of Elder Scrolls is such that without the original people it would never work, its so abstract and vague and unconventional in many ways. I am sure that the Bethesda guys would hate to lose their IP, but in the end the people are much more important and I think they know that. |

ANet does not run City of Heroes, but they did play a major role is westernizing Aion for example.
I would be really suprised if EA could get ANet. Also I the movers and shakers in Anet would leave. NCSoft gives Anet pretty free reign and are actually looked to for providing guidance about the western market rather than the other way around. There is no way an industry insider would be dumb enough to believe EA would do the same. |

They will buy out Projekt Red.....
Just so there is no chance their honest, integrity filled business approach providing quality games starts to make people wonder what they've been settling for out of the EAborg. And because the Bioware brand has taken a ton of PR hits the past 2 years, they need to rebrand it. Maybe call it "Projekt Alberta, Projekt Austin, etc." |

I really hope not. CD Projekt owns and backs gog.com. Which means not only would that kill a small but good game developer but perhaps even the one good legitimate source to get older games that are no longer being distributed. |
