Also, to answer the OP's question, just me and my girlfriend. But it will be nice to have a game to play together again.

No joke, everyone I know is planning to play GW2. However, I doubt all of them will stick with it. A few of my friends are sorta bandwagony, they jump into the new thing but inevitably end up back in WoW/EQ. I only anticipate the handful of us that played GW2, plus a few, to stick with it long-term.

One of my freinds is buying it at release. I may pick it up later on depending on how it pans out over its first six months.

Most of my buddies that play computer games have said that they will buy it or already pre purchased it. Only exception is Taket who only play Blizzard game (even if he did play a little Skyrim a while ago).

But buying a game and actually playing it a long time are 2 different things so we have to wait and see. Still, initial sales will be huge.

Not all of my friends game though, and some only play pen and paper.

My youngest son plans on playing GW2. That's 1 out of 6 gamers in my extended family that plans on playing the game.

Like 8 or so.

My bro, a few friends from a long way back when we used to play WoW and a few friends I made while playing some Rift (cancelled after 2 months).

The consensus among my gaming group is that we are done with dragons and wizards for a while. Most of them are sticking with Fallen Earth or waiting for Dominus, Repop, and TSW

My brother is. My other friends are sticking with TOR (and some still play WoW), which they said is their last stop MMO-wise (unfortunately for me). I haven't pre-purchased yet because I'm still on the fence about buying GW2 (though I do still play the original GW from time to time).

If I do buy it, I'll probably just play solo for a while until I feel mentally up to the challenge of finding a new guild.

I have 4 gamer friends and they've all prepurchased it.

I've bought it and I know one other online gaming friend.  Outside of this website (and maybe other MMO sites), I don't think many people are aware of it coming out.

Fun poll, OP.  I guessed 3-5 but it's more like 2-3 as far as I know atm.

lots! About 20-30 people. About 5 of them are simply old guild members, but mostly it's RL friends and people i'm friends online with that i've met after i stopped really playing GW1 all that much. A very substaintial number haven't even played an MMO before, but are interested in GW2 :D

Yeah, if we're talking pre-purchase that ~20-30 number drops to 7.

1. I know I am going to play myself;-)

5. Some of my RL friends that I talked about GW2 before who preordered, spoiled Beta 4 me and so on

7. 2 I expect to play, that have played GW and will most prob check out GW2

10. 3 former SWTOR fanbois, that I told GW2 will be the better game. They did not believe me. Well now it is most likely they will play it because they are of those kind that you would expect to play those games
