There's a lot of desperate males out there. Got a taste of that on one of the few times I started a female character in my mmorpg carreer; a warrior alt, years ago in WOW.

I got my first "r u a gril irl?!" tell within 15 minutes after first setting foot in Elwynn Forest. Stupidly I rolled with that ("for the lulz" and after hearing many guys doing just that to get people to give them all kinds of stuff) which seemed pretty hilarious to me so I gave that a try. But I couldn't get the guy off my back once I got his interest. "r u on msn?!" "so wher do u live?!", "how old r u irl?" ... Almost sickening how compelled some people are to chase women, imaginary ones at that. So I got tired of that real soon and recycled that char.

Many guys are pathetic. Though there are plenty of girls using that to their own interest, you can't really blame a tiger for killing a deer either.

I also completely agree with this ^^ because I can imagine it being absolutely horrible being hit on by 12 year olds or socially-awkward men when all you want to do is play a game for fun.  However as some others have said, most guys would just be considered losers (at least here in England) for playing games, let along fantasy games, let alon ONLINE fantasy games.    So its not all great from the other side as well.  That said, of course, stalking/misogynistic language is unacceptable.

Because stating 'I'm attractive' is like saying 'I'm better than you', it just adds fuel to their fire.    

At the end of the day, I don't mind if you find Day attractive, or if you're happy she's in the game.  But overall I feel like women in MMOs are either treated as 'dykes' or 'ugly fatties who should go make me a sandwich', or as beings to be worshipped, and people to give free stuff to, in the hope of some kind of 'gratification'?

all of this, yes! well you guys since us guys doesnt work. From a woman's point of view that isn't the bad few like those in game that expect freebies and such this is how we want to be treated... as equals. Felicia Day ISNT a gamer she is a fraud and a fake exploiting your nerdiness and desires.

I sense alot of pent up male adolescent hormones in this thread.  Totally unnnecessary thread because everyone has different likes and dislikes.  My suggestion is to grow up and get a wife and quit fantasizing over women you'll never be with.

The thing is....she doesn't come across as fake to me at all.  I watched her first TV debut a few weeks ago, an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer.  Comparing her acting skills in that to her current work, she's come a long way.  I'm impressed.  She also came across as more of a geek/nerd in that episode than in her more recent stuff.  I like her.  She's got a nice on screen personality and her interviews and behind the scene stuff shows she works hard and enjoys what she does.

I don't get the hate or dislike for her, at all.  I'd rather pay to watch her in shows, movies, games than half the stars Hollywood tries to shove down our throats.  Much better entertainer than the likes of Britney Spears, Madonna, Christina Perry, etc. and I don't feel ashamed watching her stuff.

First, I did not insult you. I said that I think some of the responses on here are hypocritical which they are. I even pointed out the hypocrisy which you tried to excuse away. Sorry, but people do not pretend with little "white lies" in order to make others feel better... They do it out of selfish reasons. Even if it is so they don't have to be bothered by the consequences of telling the truth. 

Tell me how outside of what all other actors/actress do has she exploited anyone? Going to gaming conventions? Not like a ton of other actors do that right?

Your anger is misplaced. You should speak out against all the women gamers who exploit IN THE GAME OR GUILDS they are in. You should speak out against the massaginistic attitude carried by a majority of male gamers (including in this thread). I have not seen the same level of vitriol towards the clearly sexist posts on here that you have towards Falicia. Why is that?

I treat all gamers the same male and female which includes not taking up pom-poms to chear them on when I feel they try to tear down someone for misguided reasons. Female gamers certainly have it tougher, but many also make it harder because they actively exploit emotions. Everything I have seen from Felicia does not indicate she does that. If you have evidence she actively go into games/guilds and tries to cause drama... by all means produce it, because that is the real issue.

With the level of hatred you have towards her... You should have no problem pointing me towards the evidence.

Hm. Could be true, but some of the people here must just enjoy her as a voice actor/actual actor.

For me - I couldn't care less. She looks atractive, and that's pretty much it. I don't know her as an actor (don't remember in House, or in Lie to Me, as the filmography in Wiki sais), but that's totally okay with me.

And you suggestion is completely unnesecary. "Get a wife/gf/beloved one". Does that show how mature you are just because you have one? No it doesn't. Men are men and if they want, they will still think about other women. Most likely actors. Will that be Scarlet Johansson boobs or just Zooey Deschanel being cute, or Sasha Grey (who knows :D). That doesn't make them bad people because they like how certain actors look. I, for example, admire Olivia Wilde. Ofc not only her looks, but her roles and all that. 

Soooo, back to the point... Actually, did I have one? Probably not. Nor did you. Thread is quite neccessary, because the OP at least can find someone with interests like him, which, in this case, is this voice actress.

     I happen to think Felicia Day is attractive and i dont find her to be the least bit annoying or insuting to women. I think she does actually do female gamers credit.      If there is anyone who has no business trying to identify as a gamer girl, It should be Morgan Webb. Every time i go to see anything on G4TV's website i cringe every time i see her on screen or hear her voice. It sucks when she is chosen to talk about some game on a show that im interested in. I usually cant bring myself to actually sit through it and shut it down. I especially hate it when she subs for Casey on the MMOreport.

     MMOrpg.com's own pocket isnt bad if i were to judge purely on looks. But she seems to be a SWOTOR fangirl and therefore lacks credibility enough for me to take her seriously.

i thought she was great in 1st season of the guild
