Originally posted by jacklo I find this bit of holier-than-thou arrogance hilarious coming from these guys, Jacklo, as a couple of months ago when people were complaining they hit level 50 and had nothing to do, and that Ilum was badly broken, it was their own fault for being greedy pigs and not stopping to smell the roses on the climb up. But now those that did take things slowly are just lesser gamers who deserve to be spat upon from the great meaningful height of level 50. Which is it guys? It seems the management of this game has been haphazard and confused from day one, and does not seem to be getting any better as they continue to dig this game deeper into the ground.

The complaint thread on the official forum is 168 pages right now. I urge any current subscriber who does not have a level 50 and is disappointed in being singled out due to playstyle to drop their sub today. Between the dropped subs and the level of bad PR that Bioware will get over the next two days, maybe it will be enough for Bioware to see that we are just as valuable as other customers. |

Originally posted by Talonsin If you haven't hit 50 by now then you're still levelling and probably enjoying the ride. Once you hit 50 the game becomes shallow. It's the 50's they want to give a free month because frankly there isn't much there to entertain them. If you haven't hit 50 yet on at least one character, then you don't really have all that much reason to complain in the first place. While I can understand your feelings, you really should get over it. The first 50's took about 4 to 5 days to do it. If after 4 months you're still not there, then you're strolling along really casually en not minding paying the sub. What's your problem? If you think you're not getting your moneys worth then simply quit, if you don't, then stop complaining because other people have more spare time than you. |

Originally posted by synn I have a 6 month sub (regretfully) which I canceled a month or more ago and I got the email saying I was entitled to the free 30 days. I suppose now I will log in to see if I got them, though I really couldn't care.
On another note, I have a second account (also subbed for 6 months and also canceled) which does not have a lvl 50 on it. I got the account because I thought crafting would turn out to be more valuable than it is. Highest character is 38. Now, I do not have a lvl 50 on the account but I did plunk down my money for the 'digital deluxe' version (main account was the $150 boxed version regretfully) and I paid them for 6 months (still with a couple months left unused). Why in the hell would they NOT give such a scenario, at the very least a 'thank you' item? Instead they essentially are saying 'You are slower than others at leveling, we're not concerned about you. We need to go stroke the folks we figure more likely to leave in the near future'. I supported them by buying the game, paying my money for 6 months, and being a part of the community since day 2 of early access and I will get 'snubbed' for not having a level 50. Let me end by saying, I am using the above as an example of the poor decisions made by SWTOR Customer Service. I really do not care about the account above. I've played the game (on both accounts) for less than an hour in the last 2.5 weeks. I may log in this weekend, if I am severely bored but even that is unlikely. This game is gone ( and I am sincerely sorry it is) to me. |

If you don't have a problem with that - well that's good for you. You have no right however to tell anyone who does find this insulting to just get over it. Companies live and die over customer loyalty. This is no way to treat your longterm customer base who actually played the game the way Bioware told us we should. |

Originally posted by JoeyMMO So because I was taking it slow and enjoying the game I dont deserve a reward given to other players simply due to my chosen playstyle? I should just let Bioware email all the level 50's and tell them how valuable and loyal they are and give them a free gift of play time and I should just be happy that I can pay the same amount as them and not enjoy the same benefits? Its like Ford saying if you have a car thats 5 year old or less that has over 100k of miles on it, you get a free new engine but you other people who didnt drive your car enough get nothing. I also find your post to be confusing, in the same paragraph you say "I can understand your feelings" and then you say "whats your problem". How can you understand my feelings if you dont know what the problem is? |

Its the age old end of leveling problem, what they have done does not solve it, but it not the end of the world for those below 50 either. |

Been playing 4 weeks now and i have a lvl 27 marauder.have to say it beggars beleif what they have done..i,m not really bothered about the 30 days..its about being singled out has not important enough or that i matter has a subber to the game.have to say the moron who came up with this idea is popular atm.i do think that all players regardless of lvl who have been there from the start should benefit from this.i mean all those guys who go thru the story that they have created and take their time re being punished for playing the game has it should be played. |

Originally posted by Talonsin Giving 30 days free to players of only certain levels is really weird, I played for 2 months and will probably play more in the future but I dont have a sub right now to do it but it sure sounds like a good idea, just drop it and resubing a couple of days after the sub ran out is enought to give them the message. -=AlaKraM=- |

Originally posted by mmoguy43 I get this, I do, I have a 50, and I'm happy with the free month, but the first thing that struck me was the fact that my best friend who has 16 (yup, one for each advanced class, across 2 servers) characters all in their 30s is not getting the same deal. He pre-ordered, has a CE, played from day 1 of early access, and usually plays more than I do. How is that fair? He's not all that bothered right now, he's replaying D2 in advance of D3, but judging from the official forums and here, he's not alone in being a loyal customer who just got told he isn't one of their "most valued" players. It's not a smart move, and I don't think they thought it through properly.

Originally posted by Talonsin guy, i'm not telling you not to enjoy your game. you say you're enjoying it. that's great! personally, i think you'll find they're not rewarding play style. they're attempting to maintain players so they don't get dead servers. they're trying to implement a large patch and they know people are leaving in droves, so they're attempting to hold onto them for the duration in hope the patch's changes will keep them playing. your argument that the issue doesn't concern me could also apply to you, as you won't be getting the 30 days either, i take it? do i believe they should be allowed to make distinctions? certainly. i've always felt they should be more discerning. i think they should do what a lot of subscription-based industries do and offer subscription models with flexibility. it's why the gaming industry's sub model is dying - because they don't. if, say, they offered a "cheap rate" for those who played only a few hours a week, they might get more out of us, too. some of us might think 15 bucks is stupid for only 3 hours a week. they might think 5 bucks was fair. so, yes, i think they should be allowed to be more flexible when they want. as i said, they're not just rewarding these 50s for being 50. they're trying to stop them leaving so that, in the end, YOU will reap the benefit of not having an empty server. see? nothing really to whinge about. |

Originally posted by jacklo hey, if you look at my history, you'll see i'm not exactly one to defend swtor's content. i'm actually quite critical of what they do. but in this case, it's simply a business decision which, while it smacks of desperation, is one that's actually needed. people who are levelling aren't necessarily leaving. it's the 50s who are wandering off. they need to keep 50s, because otherwise you get empty servers. and empty servers means a dead game. my issue is the bunch who jump in and figure this is an insult to them because they want free time, too. and why's that other guy getting free time? i mean, really. it's that level of entitlement and lack of actual understanding of WHY these decisions get made which kills games quicker than anything else. sure, the game's pretty half-assed and held together with gaffa tape, but that doesn't mean ea/bw aren't trying to hold it together anyway. it's actually MORE amusing when you consider most games pander to the under-capped players by giving them faster levelling, or whatever makes things easier for them. the one time a game offers compensation to those who made it to the endgame and found nothing to do is the one time everyone gets all whiny.

some of you are looking at this like....hey man you should be glad they are ripping you off because you dont have a lvl 50. They are trying to keep the "good" players ingame so you dont feel alone??? Have you plyed SWTOR???.....the only thing good is the SINGLE PLAYER story......so yeah i feel F*****. Like i stated b4 i got plenty of lvls on 5 defferent chars and they play me like that for being an altoholic? WTF? BTW: those lvl 50 players will not sub again for next month because the only sollution is more content for them......and they just dont have it.....face it. Bad marketing man......bad :p Unsubbed already......there are more games then stars in our universe......i'll find something else :p
